  • turn 23 : 3120 BC

    Banana warrior moved to the west, on the wine resource
    Popped the tribal village with our scout => got 40 gold
    A wolf (strength = 1, movement = 2) found next to the village.
    Scout still has one movement point left, where should it move to ?
    Wherever we move, the wolf might attack us. It normally shouldn't be a problem, cause a scout has double defense against animals and we can have another +50% if we move into forest.

    A : we will certainly be attacked (our defense = 2.5), only option in the east direction.
    B : we might be attacked (probabillity = 3/8, our defense = 2.5), back where we came from.
    C : we might be attacked (probabillity = 2/8, our defense = 2.25), we'll see the sea.
    D : we might be attacked (probabillity = 1/8, our defense = 2.25), we'll see the sea and more of the northern part.

    If we move towards A, we'll be attacked. We will only gain time if we don't have to heal a single turn (assuming we we are not attacked if we move back). Ofcourse, if we move back, there's still a possibility the wolf walks into our direction and attacks us anyway. The benefit of an attack is, we have a very good chance to survive and gain experience for our unit.

      Why not attack ourselves? Attacking gives more XP than defending.

      Edit: Ah yes, because a scout can only defend.

          Yeah, I think D is better explore-wise.

              Screenshot of the newly explored terrain (there's nothing interesting).

              For next turn, move to the Deer-tile if the wolf is not on it. If the wolf is on that tile, probably the forest North-East is a good choice.

              Foreign intelligence updated. Only land scores changed (there's a 20-turn delay on these) :
              Mercs : 8 -> 20 tiles land
              Vox : 9 - > 21 tiles land
              Banana : 9 -> 21 tiles land
              Horde : 0 -> 8 tiles land

              Merc, Vox and Banana are creative, so their border expanded in the third turn (3920 BC). Horde founded their capital in 3920 BC.

              I think we are the only civ with sea acces for now. Horde and Merc probably have an oasis next to their capital (or a useless 1-tile lake).
