I'm not sure the significance of Rains Retreat.

        Monsoon is fine by me.

          looking good, guys

HE goes faster with marble, right? Do we have that connected yet?

From the looks of it, I favor at least 2 workers on chop duty. These will very quickly pay off, if all chops go to additional workers. Or towards a settler...

The voice looks to be a perfect garrison city, btw. Much better than EotS

oh, and for turning Taz city in a priest factory. We need that sooner then later.

              Thanks for the feedback DeepO.

RE chopping: I am in too minds about chopping atm. The production bonus is definitely a positive. However, further chopping in our core cities is a problem because of the health cap. The new city (horses) has no (or very little) forest and needs jungle clearing. I am happy if we chop around Carnero Tempestas.

The query I have is regarding the forests at The Voice (pictured below, at AD425). The forests could be saved for lumber mills or be used to chop out an urgent army with HE should the need arise. In my judgment we should save at least a good proportion of the remaining 6 forests

Certainly as other cities are built, I generally favour some chopping as an early production path.

Do others have opinions on chopping? I like to whip workers/settlers, especially once cities are near health caps. (I am not suggesting we do this at EotS).

In SP, I very rarely chopped, so I know what you mean. And the Voice is difficult: we want to have plenty of production there too.

                however, three points:
                - watermills might be better in our case than lumber jacks: we've got plenty of river and if I'm not mistaken we're financial
                - for protection, we should clear out some of the forest right next to our cities, definitely in the direction of the biggest threat
                - we've got plenty of forest not in our city zone... clearing out some of the tundra below gives us hammers without health cost.

PS: if timed properly, we probably can whip at least a worker from EotS without penalty: there's happy enough, right?

The save hasn't arrived yet, so I'll let you take it nye.

Actually, there is not much to say. The most important thing is to gift Feudalism to AC and immediately start research on Paper at 100% science (we owe AC Paper as well).

Other than that, getting marble online is a priority for building HE in the voice. I also sent an axe towards the SW coast to reveal the coastline there.

I would almost advocate revolting to Slavery to whip another worker from Wines, and then finish off the library there (via whip or overflow or whatever) so that we no longer have to hire scientists only by Caste System; whipping granaries in new cities is generally a good thing and later revolting to Serfdom will be really helpful for jungle clearing and tile improvement.

Not sure when it would be best to revolt though; I'll leave that to your judgment.

I'll be back on Monday. Good luck and thx for standing in!
