Some general questions...

    Some general questions...

    ... to get up to speed.

    1) What version is this? I bought a new computer and video card to handle some of the huge games in BTS, so all that I currently have installed is BTS 3.13. I have all my old disks though...

    2) On a related note, I am 'current' with BTS. For what version do I need a brain re-set?

    3) Just as a matter of interest, how many GS members currently have the ability to load a save, and how many are participating solely through forum posts?

    4) How are we currently organized? I get the sense that there are no Ministers of This and That, and that the turn-player is basically handling everything. Correct?

    5) I'll probably reach out to some of the earlier team members, just to see if I can get some interest / activity / participation. Is there anybody who would be, um, offended, or for whom it'd just be a total waste of time (e.g., Aeson at one point in the PTWDG)?

    6) I've asked nye to participate in a phone call to walk me through playing / reporting the next turn... I'd be happy to set up a conference call for anyone else that would like to participate.

    7) I'd like to accelerate the process of getting some dotmaps done for team strategy and planning. What can I do to facilitate such for those who would like to produce them?

    8) I haven;t even looked at the public forum yet... is there anything special to note about our interaction with other teams there?

    9) On a related note, I do not know who the movers and shakers are on the other teams, much less what their psychological dispositions are. Anybody able to provide a quick summary of who's who, and how to manipulate them?

    10) What does Blake mean by Jumbos?

    11) On the one hand, we clearly have to cooperate/manage AC... but on the other hand, aren't they already pulling away towards the win? Shouldn't we be determining a preemptive strategy to take them out?

    12) We have an immediate need to escalate our diplo activity with AC. Any volunteers?

    Theseus, I am not sure the current patch on the save. The last pne I loaded was at 1.61. As I told DeepO at the out set, I had stopped playing IV at the time of the patch.

    I do not have any of the addon at this time either. I have followed the action the whole game though.

    I do agree we need to ramp up and we will have to consider how to curb AC. It seems likely that we have the most strength at this point in terms of troops, but I am unaware of what types they have.

    If Blake or Godel or Hot Mustard can tell us the patch level I will apply it as it has been a while since I loaded the save. In fact I do not think I have it on my current PC.

      I can't imagine not having the current Civ to play, at least for every once in a while. I've had it going since Interstel Empire, for what, almost 20 years now?

      When I sometimes think about the worst things that could personally happen, you , like losing your sight or hearing, I automatically think "Well, how could I play Civ then?"

      I had always thought you'd be the same, v.

        Got my phone ready to dial, T.

        I am not the best guide, but I think you need the latest vanilla patch and the dg mod. Something else about updated dlls, but that might not apply to someone with BtS (I don't, yet; the C3C ISDG has more than occupied my attention for some time now).

            Shoot, I just saw this. I am not set up correctly... if we need to get a turn delivered, go for it.

                nye, I really would like some help walking through the next turn.

                I think it'd be sort of fun to do a conference call for all and any that would like to be involved. For the next turn, which, I'd guess, will be between Xmas and NYE (haha), I'm going to set one up, probably through GoToMyPC's service.

                    Still playing lots of civ3, so no withdrawials

                    When you get the low down on how to get the save and what level it is at post the details so the rest of us lames can start to follow closer, please.

                          ver 1.74, with a modified dll for MP (if you don't have BtS[??] I'm not clear on this).

                            Thanks nye, if I got Bts would I need anything else? Would the addon prevent me from loading the save? Is the color mod need to just load the save, but not play the turn?

                              I'm going to post in the public turn thread for help in making sure we understand how to load.
