  • Checking the GS pulse

No, we're not dead, but at times it seems we're meditating or something. This is a 34 person team, not a 6 (or so) person team.

Please vote and also post to show you're still with us.

"actively lurking" meaning that you're reading most if not all of what's happening, and tacitly agree with our direction and choices, but just aren't posting said agreement.

"occasionally lurking" meaning the same as above, but not as often and/or you may not be as up-to-date on all matters.

I'm alive...I just don't really do any intensive simming anymore, and we don;t have much to do in this war unless AC try to screw us over somehow. Or someone else turns up and gives Vox some units.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Thanks, Krill. You and Arrian of course don't need to say a thing.

Something that I hope might get revealed is if people just assume "all-is-good" and that those few of us that are very active have all the bases covered.

Regardless if that were the case or not, collectively we are far stronger than individually.

Also, I am not a Civ4 or strategy guru, so assuming that I will handle surprises appropriately or think of good tactics and steer discussions in the right directions is just totally wrong. I am more than happy to be the turn-player and act on our decisions, but I want us to ensure that those decisions are as sound as possible beforehand.

I'm busy recently and need to cut down on my gaming "commitments" but I assure you that GS is NOT one of those .

          Actively lurking,

I check up every few days and read just about everything that is written. I don't post much because (1) I don't think I really have that much to offer strategically, I'm a competent SP player, but I have practically no MP experience, and (2) I'm not quite ready to commit to playing a major diplomatic role.

                What he said.

There's a bit of a flaw in your poll though, 'cause the only ones voting/commenting are likely to be those that, well...are active in the first place.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Yes, I know. I put a time limit of 7 days. At the end we'll have a count of active posters, and then we'll know who the inactive members are - can't expect them to participate in a poll if they're inactive, after all.

I keep myself updated every few days or so, but find little, if anything, where any insight I may have isn't already covered. Besides, Krill can tell you from the new AU202 course that mine may not be the best insight to have.

There are many different ways of looking at the game, and inspiration can come from any of them.

BUt most importantly Solomwi, go finish posting your DAR, because I'm slightly annoyed that I'm the first one to finish, and I ain;t posting the last DAR until someone else is in the modern era

                          Hi!

                          I'm lurking.

Life is quite hectic and crazy for me these days, and I've done nothing more than lurk throughout the civ4 game, but I do read every couple days to see what is happening.

Unfortunately I haven't touched civ4 in some time, myself....

True, but I keep finding both my first instinct and best-reasoned recommendations already brought out. That's not a bad thing by any stretch. Rest assured that the moment I have a fresh perspective, I'll post it.

, touche on the DAR. It's going to have to wait a bit. I got side-tracked yesterday, and the girlfriend's coming over any minute. Here's a preview, though: On the cusp of the Industrial Age; game still very winnable, but not one I'm exactly happy with. Due to playing mostly on Marathon, didn't realize how quickly my high priority ancient wonders would vamoose. They've both been nice, but were probably too highly prioritized at the expense of growth (though I will maintain that your title dichotomy is fales ). Hopefully, I'll get to write it up and continue playing tomorrow.
