I favor a no as well. I too think I would rather try to get a big gain and risk the game. I have no confidence in alliances. It could be that some teams will form a strong and reliable alliance. If they do everyone will be screwed.

I am not so sure that all the other teams are going to find a clear path to expansion and growth either.

Some of them will face the same situation we faced. Some of them wil have to worry about the Merc team. Anyway it is more fun the way it is right now.

I'm still catching up on the various threads here, but I would vote a resounding "No" to peace as well.

Their capitol has a gold mine in it.

When it's ours, that'll essentially give us two Capitol-Producing commerce sites.

There's nothing they could offer us in terms of peace that could even *begin* to approach what we could do with that city, ourselves...to say nothing of the rest of the terrain.

IMO, in studying the maps, there's nobody west of us. We can rest assured our southern border is clear, and I find it unlikely in the extreme that anybody is immediately north. I'd be willing to bet our entire future on the fact that Vox is our ONLY near neighbor.

Maybe that'll turn out not to be the case, but it's not something I'd lose much sleep over.

We can end this fight and absorb them without losing much of anything in terms of developmental position, relative to the other civs out there, *especially* when you factor that juicy gold mine into the calculations.

What little we lose in the short term will be more than made up for by the fact that we'll be in control of a holy city AND a holy city with a gold mine attached.

There's simply nothing they can offer that would come close to that, in terms of gain, and they know it.

        They're bluffing.

So full of hot air that their warriors are beginning to levitate.
