Beg to differ. Upgrade your old promoted Axemen/Swordsmen/Macemen to Grenadiers and Riflemen. Voila! Citybusting groundpounders.

*laughs* Nothing so grand. Not big on titles myself.

If you want to set up structures for different scholia, just post them, but my advice is to wait a little and see what is already present (yeah, I know, not a lot visible now). This way you won't burn out thinking on stuff we already know... no need to invent the wheel twice.
Fair enough assessment. We'll see how things go, I'll provide feedback on what I observe, and you all can take it as you will. After all, it's your team and I am 'Teh New Guy', and I can't ask for much more than your consideration!

One final thing to note, though: I strongly disagree that the best ideas came from a structured approach.
They usually don't, actually...the point more being that for routine matters perfection generally is overrated, and that efficiency carries the day. Crises are another matter entirely, and it's probable that from chaos good things are likely to result. But, of course, we can't maintain that sort of intensity level all of the time.

It's a myth we more or less started to cultivate to have a better excuse of what was really going on: over-analysis, and indecisiveness. At certain points of the game we were paralysed in diplo contacts as we were trying to foresee all possibilities, or we were simply to busy in other aspects of the game.
Which is the situation I'm looking to avoid here - by having clear analytical responsibilities, we can cut the time required to make key decisions and respond to our adversaries in a timely manner.

That said, you may just be right that handling that area slowly in the early going may be for the best - quick diplo responses are suggestive of well-formed strategic direction, which is intimidating to other teams and could end up with us becoming a target. Later in the game, being diplomatically unresponsive is likely to be offensive, but early on it would just be suggestive of us not having a clue what's going on (which is a good image to portray in a multiplayer game such as this).

I love to take credit when it's due but that was GhengisFarb's idea, not mine. I actually happened to join just when the whole coercion was taking place and IIRC my very first chat was the one with Vox when we agreed to help them against GS.

Originally the plans of assistance were much greater. We were going to land a bunch of horsemen and wreak havoc on what we assumed would be a virtually defenseless GS. However, reality smacked us right in the face: we didn't have the ships (a similar problem which plagued an attempted invasion of Lego after the Great Patriotic War of Bobian Liberationâ„¢), we didn't have enough horses, and once we saw the massive army GS spawned just a few turns after the war began even those horses we had were to be swamped.

In the event we did land two horses, of course they were promptly destroyed. Contrary to popular GS belief this was not done to hurt GS via war wariness, this was actually a unilateral Farb decision which the entire team was against, the first seed in what was to become the Glorious Revolutionâ„¢ and the overthrow of the Farbian dynasty to be replaced by Panzer32.

How's that for a little glimpse at GoW internal politics

It proves that most of your team was actually rational. What a waste of 2 elite horsemen!! We were flabergasted.
