    Clearly it would not make sense to allow permanent alliances without allied victories, but allied victories without permanent alliances would still work. The "Settings" poll only mentions permanent alliances, and so does not really address the larger issue (namely, allied victory).

      Team Mercenary views secret permanent alliances (allied victory) the same as it views public permanent alliances (in game), and will have no part in either, no matter what rules are decided on.

      That said we have no problem being hired by team A in a war that will make them victors.

      I seriously doubt the Mercs will truly non-partisan, especially in the face of potential extermination.
      I look forward to surprising you.

      In any case, whichever teams buys off the Mercs faster or more completely would be at an advantage.
