  • How to Choose Civs

I thought (please don't say Im mistaken) this would be the right time to officially poll for the way how are the civs we will be playing with determined.

    The options are:
1.Fully random - you have no saying whom you get.

2.Fully random + veto - you can veto one (this can be discussed, but preferably no more than 3) civ, other than that it's fully random.

3.Preferences without prioritising - each team names 2 (or 3) of civs they'd like to play, the game maker rolls dice.

4.Preferences with prioritising - each team names 2 (or 3) preferences, in order of priority, the game maker then picks according to priorities and where 2 teams have picked the same, he rolls dice (or teams can make some diplomacy and reach consensus).

5.One pick - each team picks what they want to play, if 2 teams have the same pick they either reach consensus, or the game maker rolls dice which of two (or more) will get the pick first.

    6.Other, please name.

Not to influence your thoughts, but I myself am voting for 4 - several teams have already expressed 1 or 2 civs they'd be happy to play with, one of which is usually a priority.
Besides team as Horde tends to be more 'compatible' (and thus more effective at RP) with certain civs.

I suggest that civ choices 1-3 be sent to Aeson and I, and we will assign civs based on that - essentially, #4. However, I suggest it's easiest if you all work it out ahead of time, diplomatic-like...

I'm sorry, is this for public discussion or each team gets one vote here? Just in case, I exercise my right to express my opinion and I go with #4.

Edit: Just read this snoopy369's thread...
I'd like to spend the first week discussing them, in threads like binTravkin's which civ thread, and then I'll post official voting threads, where each team gets one vote.
                    please disregard my stupid question

This is public, is slight majority of some candidate/option is reached here, we will be just able to assume that's the overall opinion and then we can skip the team polling bit.

completely random, because I don't know enough about civ to know which strategies work best with who...

Although, if it's random, I'd like to know the faction at least one week before the game starts so we can all put in some extra training time :-)

If the results where more disputed you'd be in business. As it is now, looks like your vote will be worthless. Supply and demand, what a *****!

That's one of the wonderfull ironies of Democracy, the bigger the majority you're in, the less your vote is worth.
