Religous could be cool perhaps with all kind of prophecies and messiahs and religious wars etc, although it may be going too far down the theme influencing game play road. It would however, give you an excuse to end all posts with
"in accordance with prophecy"
Watching "Rome" made me think a team pretty much based on being Roman and the Romans might be pretty good.
Other than that, perhaps
An Anglo-Saxon based team or a medieval style team.
Team Dante's Inferno.... 7th Cirlce of hell for all you traitors... This would no doubt be some kind of warmongering team
Peaceloving living with nature type team (Buddist/American Indian) thing, although that would probably be boring as hell.
Team Apocalypse/Armageddon, with cunning plans to bring about a war to end all wars.
