  • Turn 87 - 725 BC

    Accepted the trade from Sarantium. We will get rest of techs next turn. So far we get Archery, Mysticism, and Writing. We gave Agriculture, Iron Working and Metal Casting. The trade made me nervous because of the difference in beakers, but I guess we can trust Sarantium to complete the deal.



    Sarantium move workboat onto fish tile but have not gifted it yet.



    Moved western chariot 6, which leaves tiles in FOW. Did not move central chariot, as there were no specific directions. Moved Foxtrot chariot 3-2.

    Foxtrot will need new build chosen this turn.



    Notice the pretty little horsey that the Horde have!! Moved army one step closer to warrior. There is a worker mining copper.

    Well, the rest of their trades were ones that we needed those pre-reqs for.

    If they back out, it's an act of war and we'll extract payment manually.

    They wouldn't have been able to gift the boat cause it was out of movement points.

        WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REST OF THE TECHS FROM SARANTIUM

        Alphabet (and Meditation) were not sent.

        Sarantium needs to let us know what the hell is up.

          BTW, Sarantium did gift the workboat, so I would assume this is merely an oversight.

          Nevertheless, getting shorted a big tech like Alphabet for even a turn is not good.

            Suggested moves:
            Work boat creates fishing boats out by Port Lima; switch the city to work them & the pigs for max growth. (City's about to grow, we won't lose that many hammers and will gain food and commerce.)
            Chariots in the south & southeast: Move the chariot outside Foxtrot to join the Horde scout in the jungle; move the chariot on the jungle hill 4 to check out the FOW it's missing
            Chariot in the west: continue patrolling by moving 9
            Southern stack: the barb warrior is still there. Recommend we attack with the experience-less axe (2 XP needed for its promo vs. 3 for the already promoted, 2/5 XP axe). Odds are 99.8% according to the game - time to heal damage is the only downside I see.
            FS needs its build decided now! I'd say pop out a quick chariot.

            I'll wait for further comment on whether to hold up for Sarantium's response. Personally, I think we can play on, particularly since there's nothing urgent regarding them (the settler to be traded isn't even produced yet).

                No response yet it would seem, though Beta has posted.

                What do you think? Play within 24 hrs even if we don't get a response, or ask for more time if we do?

                        -Foxtrot finishes Barracks, starts Chariot

                        -SE Chariot moves 3 to join Horde scout
                        Worker chops bring the FS forge closer to completion
                        -Southern chariot moved 4
                        -Axeman Target Practice attacks the Barb Warrior 8. Wins with some damage, now at 3.6/5 strength (now approximately at 72% HP). It will take 3 turns to heal him fully, so we should probably find at least 2 turns for healing.
                        -Rest of stack (spear+axe) moved 8 to join TP
                        -Work boat ordered to create Fishing Boats. (Citizen was auto-adjusted for me, didn't need to be moved)
                        -Western chariot 9. No barbs here either
