  • Builds, 1920 BC onwards

AB will complete its settler at the end of 1960, and Fort Sierra will complete its first axeman at the end of 1920. What should they build next?

I think another Axeman is a pretty good choice for Fort Sierra. While the new Axe will leave us with a mil unit per city + the axe that's out clearing fog, another would give us a spare unit to devote to reinforcing threatened areas or guarding another city. I figure once Fort Sierra can build up enough excess axemen, it can complete the barracks and then go back to military units.

Alpha Base is another matter. I think it should build a worker, probably; a work boat would be good but another worker is becoming quite vital.

I think they should both build axe, with a change to slavery to pop one out as well, but that's me. We are in danger of overextending. We need at least 2 units on the city we are extending S.

    Worker before boat, IMO.

We could do an Axeman in AB, growing 1 pop and waiting for the gold to be hooked up to AB before doing the work boat (and thus growing again). I'm not sure that's necessary just yet, especially if AB goes for a worker next while Fort Sierra puts out a second Axe 6 turns after the first (allowing us to transfer a second unit to the new city pretty quickly, probably only leaving it with 1 unit for 5 turns or so).

I'm not sure slavery is useful just yet. Methinks we should get a granary in place, not to mention some happiness sources to suck up the consequences. Right now, we don't have much happiness to spare.

Bah. You whip the granary in place.

Good point. Though that is either a 2-pop investment or a 1-pop, 30-shield investment.

It might be good to do with AB sooner or later, I'm just worried that it will be too easily poprushed below sustainable happiness at pop 4, which I see as its minimum desirable level. (Oasis+Pigs+Copper+something else, ideally clams once a workboat is built.)

Any more opinions? AB's build needs to be decided this coming turn.

I lean towards queueing up two axemen in FS, whereas a worker and a workboat in AB. The threat level to AB is pretty low and we really should connect our cities with roads, not to mention hook up more resources. One worker can't do it by himself.
