  • Fort Sierra circa 2200 BC and onwards

At the end of 2200 BC, Fort Sierra will grow to size 2. And I believe the copper mine should be completed during 2120 BC.

What are we going to do with it?

Currently it's building a barracks. This is a good idea long-term since we'll want this shield-heavy city producing troops for us. In the short-term, however, I think we need troops immediately more than we need later troops to gain that +4 XP. Especially if we keep the axe outside our borders on barb-guard duty, it would be good to have a third axe produced to guard the new city that will be built by the settler AB is producing.

How are we going to do this? I'd say that until the mine is built, let's have Fort Sierra keep on the barracks, and work a grassland forest with the second citizen. (Maximum food output + an extra hammer. We may not need a third and fourth population point too much right now, but soon enough we'll want them to work the gold and stone.) Once the mine is built, let's have it immediately switch the second citizen to working the mine, and have the city switch its build to an Axeman. (The progress made on the barracks will keep for a little while. Gotta love that feature of Civ4.)
