  • Turn 41 - 2400BC

Scout moved 3. Probability is high that the Horde will send a settler west soon to take advantage of the flood plains and copper.

Spear Fortified in FS. Axe fortified on AB pig tile. Worker moved 3 - 1. After ending the turn AB grows to size 3.

AB's citizen 3 is automatically set to work a forest tile. We will only be able change this when we receive the next save. Remember to switch him to work the oasis.

Where to with the scout? 1 - 2 taking care not to bump into kitty?

EDIT: Having looked at the power graph, I noticed that Sarantium increased their score 2 turns ago by exactly the same amount we did when we settled FS...

1-2 sounds good, I think kitty looked a little grumpy.

    Good thinking on tile change.

Turnplayer should also remember to road with the worker.

Did Sarantium just found a city? It seems that the chance that their second city would put their total land area above ours is very good. We have 37 squares of land: 28 land and 9 water in the twice-expanded borders of Alpha Base, and 9 land in the borders of Sierra Base.

That's the most land among all civs (see demographics), tied with at least one other civ. It's possible, though, that Sarantium has two cities and no more land than we.

Can anyone check successive demographics screens to track highest land totals? I suspect, though, that we'll find that some inland capital city quickly achieved 37 squares.

Given that we are so far ahead in crop yield, I wouldn't be surprised if no other civ has a second city (unless low crop yields are simply a sign of maximum pop rushing by others).

We'll know in 3 turns when our borders expand in city 2.

#1 in food And we've got plenty of room to grow there, and tons to grow in the production over the short term.

WHO is 6000 population?!?! What is that worker/settler as first builds? Or (far too) serious pop rushing already.

Also like to point out the soldiers score. We are very well off, and may even go to #1 after the next axe. Press our advantage and expand as aggressively as possible now.

              Re: 6,000 population

Maybe somebody got rushed and had to pop an emergency garrison. A rush at this time against an opponent you know to have slavery is probably a bad idea, unless you have far superior units. Are the Inca or Mali in the game?

Mali is GS, I believe. No incans.

I can't see GS popping a unit unless it was a last resort, and I have a hard time seeing anyone rushing a mali player.

I was thinking of Mali being the rush attacker (with skirmishers) and their victim being forced to pop a garrison.

Another possibility is that a civ with two cities lost its capital already to a rush attack, though I hope that all teams in the game would be careful enough to preclude that.

I could envision a civ popping their first settler to capture a choice second-city site, especially if they have excellent food specials in their captial's radius, more especially if their capital is hammer-weak.

Bit of a contre-temps... Kitty wants to play!

I thought instead we could go 4 - 4. Then 1 - 4, to what looks like a hill near the coast. Even if kitty goes 8 after we move 4 - 4, we can skirt past her and make it safely to the hill in question.

Will wait for responses, but will go ahead with this plan if I get no feedback.

4 - 4 it is then. Tile 1 - 4 of that is indeed a hill. Worker set to road. AB citizen switched from forest tile to oasis.
