We could try to think of the most insulting line in Esperanto.

Insulting to the Yang and the Alpha Centurians.
Dignified to the skilled players of the team that defeated us.

Let's not be bad sports - we were outplayed - plain and simple.

Maybe expressing our sense of sorrow to no longer be in the game, acknowledge the skill of the teams we have had contact with - and wish all teams well for the rest of the game.

          No cry baby stuff..............
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I agree, let's not be the drama starters. We let our gaurd down. If we had been smart we'd still have that alliance with both of them and the standing army to interject in to the GS-Vox war. Who knows, maybe they will head for feudalism and spare us as a vassal? Maybe we can find some way of haveing them let us keep our last city.

Vassalage is not in Civ original.

              Keep our last city?

that's right I forgot this wasn't warlords. Maybe we can convince them not to take our final city as the war winds down. Not to mention especially the original Civ IV is a very defender friendly game, so we may win a war of contrition.

What if we move the troops out of the city they are about to attack so they have a better fortification bonus in the next closest city?

I meant war of attrition not contrition...

And further maybe the goal at this point should be to just out last vox. If we move everything into one city and try and hold that the maybe we stand a better chance.

If we can get GS to turn on AC by convincing them that we will never be ale to rise against them if they beat AC then we may have a two nation continent with a game long friend in GS, and while we may not be big and powerful, we can focus on culture and become a political player at least.

The selling point to GS being that we could and would never take them on, and that by beating AC they would be even more powerful than splitting the continent with them. Not to mention they may not be able to trust AC game long if they are an equal or greater power.

I dunno, I'm tired, but those are a couple thoughts I had...

                    It is an interesting thought.

And it may work - if GS want to play this way.

The other issue is that AC will take Mash first and split us in two - getting the troops north from Splitsville in one piece will be very difficult - particulalrly if the raze Mash - meaning they will not have to leave defenders in it.

But do we want to continue as a minor regional state - doing what we are told?

Partners, IMHO, we must be, as always have been, good sports and
                      now not naive.

I proposed give our assets to GS; now I'm glad you didn't accept it,
it would be just bad sport.

I think we must play "naturally" until the end.

Both GS and AC are good players (GS is known and I do not think
very good SMAC players be weak at civ4).

Obvious, AC will keep at least Mash and Bananapolis, if they can,
but it looks not; they have powerful, but few, units. Anyway, the
                      terrain shall remain there.

AFAIK, Banana Civ is doomed, our team shall lose shortly this game
and each of us will have less one game to play.

                      Best regards,

We should not be talking about emptying our cities for a final stand. If our rush plan is to work we need the few cities we have. Stay and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.

On last words, we should, of course be good sports to the players that beat us.

                          The Cho-Ku-Nu

The Unique Unit for the Alpha Centauri dogs.

                          Abilities:

                          Strength of 6

                          2 first strikes

                          Collateral Damage

                          +50% vs melee units.

So a strength of 9 vs our axes strength of 5.....

Plus will do collateral damgae against our city stacks.

I trust this has been informative!

I intend to - if that is what the team wants.

However the question is the best way to do that....

We are just discussing options at the moment.

Alot will depend on what AC actually does - do they go for Mash first? This is a given IMO - but do they keep it or raze it?

If they raze it, our live expectancy will get even shorter.

If they play well, and so I believe, they shall go to the copper first.

Then, Mash; keep it, if they have some spare units, raze if not.

Then, one of the remaining cities (keep it, as no danger now).

                              Then the last one.

                              Best regards,
