It looks like Snoopy369 is considering opening this game's forum to public discourse. I have stated my opinion in that thread and made a suggestion.

How should Team Banana handle public statements? I suggest that it be regulated somehow. I shouldn't be able to post taunts to other teams, declare alliances, announce techs & wonders without some sort of approval. I am not saying that every word should be approved before hand - but like in the diplo emails - a topic or opinion is decided on and the diplo email is sent.
Let's say that EPW is Team Banana's spokesman. As a team we should decide when and how EPW is to make a public statement about a given event. We should also decide how other members are to react to that post.
For example if we are at war another team we could decide to make a War Memorial that will state how we were wronged and how successful our glorious campaign is going. Then EPW posts that War Memorial and any updates. Other team members could stop by to post their respects. But I should not be able to go out and post another thread declaring the vices of our enemy even if it seems to support our war.
At some point we could use the forums to show internal disagreement when there is none, publically strengthen alliances during war, or just plain brag about the wonders of the banana.
I guess my point is that the public forums should be looked at as a tool and used as such.
Any thoughts on how we can do this? Am I full of old banana peels?

1 - An agreement on some RP rules needs to be decided on before the public forums are opened to this game.
2 - Since the public forums are closed at this time maybe the mods should decide when a reasonable number of teams have met in game to allow for rumors of other civs to travel across our world.
