Have you given consideration to the proposed trade route? Team Banana looks forward to a long and mutually properous friendship with our neighbors, Alpha Centuri. Though the Great Banana, whose name dare not be uttered, will always be worshiped in our land, many of our women have taken to staring in awe at pictures of your Yang. Our nations have much to learn from one another.

Our high priests have gone to the mountain again to smoke the dried skins of bananas. They have come back from their retreat of 5 days and 5 nights with prophetic visions. They saw 7 trees that bore 7 fruits. The two trees... Well one was actually a very large herb plant of the musa variety but for the sake of this story... The two trees closest to our wise priests stood strong, tall, and in the sun. Their roots grew deep, their fruits were sweet and nurishing, and the hippolactuses grazed in their shade. It is understood that these two trees are our blessed nations of the Banana and Centuri. The other trees were but vague shapes lost in the fog of this world. It is unclear what this foretells.

Much discussion has taken place since these visions. We have come to the unamimous decision that if Team Banana or Alpha Centuri should stumble into another tree - er tribe we should speak of the strong friendship shared by the Bananas and Centurians. If we are to share in the bounty of each other's research, why not share in the knowledge of the world as we discover it & at the same time spread the word about our friends? What say you?

With that said, we have yet to meet another tribe.

Greating we are as always pleased to hear from our Banananian brother, we have indeed been considering the road proposal and think that it shall be excelent with only a slight modification. We of Yang will take responsibility for building the road west on the river and on the one plot of the rivers west bank, you shall build all that is west of that point begining with the Desert Incense plot. This will acording to my math result in an equal split of 7 road segments each. In addition we will be altering our piece a bit to make it curve north and facilitate connection of our future cities, but do not be alarmed its end shall terminate on the west bank of the river and so long as we both build towards a common meating point each of us may choose the most effecient route to get their.

The people of Yang also accept your proposal to share the fruits of exploration on the sea as we have done on land, being accustomed to the sea so close to our great city has filled us with a yearning to explor beyond the waves. Our scolars may soon look towards developing Sailing which we suspect your people living far from the sea will have no interest in.

Might we also inquire as to planning future discoveries and the possibility for trading them, one of us must discover Writing and then Alphabet for us to trade. Whom do you think should be tasked with this challenge and what could the other exchange in compensation?

They have asked us several times now about our combined research path. We should give them an answer. Any ideas?

We already stated that we'd be willing to build a seaside city for trade purposes. Why do they think that we are not interested in the sea?

Should I tell AC that we will study Writing & Alphabet and we and talk compensation as we get closer to the trade? What does the team think fair compensation would be?

It's just a thought, it would be a daring and bold move for either side, but if they are as serious with this friendship as they seem, then I would suggest the possibility.

Most of this discussion so far deals with AC and our trades so that is fine but I started a thread to specifically deal with techs through out the game. Maybe before we finally a trade agreement with AC we should know what we want as a techs related to our overall goal as a team.

The Great Yang & His People - The Alpha Centurians,

Our nations have talked for many years now about the trading of technologies and co-ordinated efforts in the pursuit of science. The time has come for our nations to come together and make this dream real.

Our proposal is simple. Our nations will have a free and open exchange of technologies as they are discovered. Future studies will be co-ordinated by both nations. This arrangement is exclusive to the nations of Alpha Centuri and Team Banana. We should agree on a year, age or condition that either nation can walk away from this arrangement freely without harming our mutual friendship.

To show our earnest desire to start this co-ordinated pursuit of science we have included a list of our current scientific knowledge.

Team Banana shares your view that writing and alphabet will be a great technologies to pursue and we will go that route if you desire. But, the dream of the 7 Trees that I mentioned last time warns us that other tribes lurk in the fogs of this world and that all might not be as friendly as we have been to eachother - never mind the wolves and bears. What are your thoughts on Iron Working or Fission? (Those banana peels give me strange dreams)

Which of our technologies do you require? Which technologies can you send to us? What would you like our scientists to start studying after Bronze has been mastered? If you like the arrangement, what do you feel is a fair "walk away" condition?

If you are in general agreement I can draw up a simple treaty for our leaders to sign.
