  • BtS Pitboss Team Democracy Game?

Got an interesting proposal from RobWorham:
    Greetings,
I have been approached by the site admins of Poly to start laying the foundations for a BtS Pitboss Team Democracy Game. The game will not get underway until the final patch for Beyond the Sword comes out (last estimate I heard was Q1 2008), but I thought it best to get as much of the infrastructure in place beforehand, so things can progress as quickly as possible once the final patch is released.

Beta has very generously stepped forward to be host, and Snoopy369 has agreed to be emergency host should Beta be unavailable for any reason. With some technical assistance I will be available as a third place backup should the proverbial really hit the fan......

Now, it seems to me, the next step is finding a suitable number of teams, and getting enough active participants for each team so the burden of running a team doesn't fall on the shoulders of one individual all the time. To this end, I would like to inquire if you would like to be a 'team leader' and set about forming a team. Failing that, would you be interested in participating as a team player for a team that someone else sets up? If so could you please respond via PM or email me at robworham@hotmail.com and I'll add your name to the appropriate list.

Lastly, could you please forward this PM to any avid Civ4 BtS players who you think might be interested in participating in a BtS Pitboss Team Democracy Game. Alternatively, you could send me their names by return PM and I'll send them a copy of this very PM. I will PM as many people as I can, but I'm sure a few likely candidates may slip between the gaps, so your help would be greatly appreciated.....

I hope this PM finds you happy and healthy, and I look forward to your reply in the near future.
    Cheers,
    Rob
I think we had some discussion about this already and I also think we should finish up this game before moving on to the next, but in general, what are your thoughts about participating in a BtS pitboss team demo game?

Should at least be much faster than this one.

    I don't know yet...
This game already takes a lot of my time to follow up everything, so in a faster game I'd probably just look at screenshots whenever they're posted without ever logging in to the game itself.

I doubt that in a pitboss game people would be keen on taking a lot of screenshots.
Logging in to a pitboss server takes less time than capturing, saving and uploading a screenshot.

Yes, but compared to *looking* at screenshots, it takes more time to log in etc... and it can not be done from work

Well, that's disputable, you get more info from viewing the game than screenshots, you can view just what you want and you don't have to scroll that much.

I was wondering if team AC would enter a team.

Sorry I haven't contributed here yet, I just haven't found a good chunk of time to read some back ground.
