    Todo:
    - continue chopping with workers (IIRC one worker will need to move on a new forest)
    - continue moving towards Vox with chucks
    - continue scouting the territory between Vox and GS - use hills to south from current position to get good sight range
    - continue scouting north-eastern coastline with other scout
    - continue moving chuk near Xian towards NE, to bust some more fog
    - set research to 100%
    - dunno about cities atm, will check the status of Beijing once turn arrives to decide whether it really needs a change in allocation as PJay proposed

I've opened the turn, nothing special seen yet.

Safan proposes moving scout SE-SE (see screenie with scout on the 50BC thread), but I'd more like SE-SW, since our overall route is more SW.

Here's screenie after moving the scout SE:

Also, there's an ax approaching Mhasa:

I propose to move archer back into Mhasa and give him some promotion (dunno which though, could be combat I, so he can attack the ax if it decides to attack city and slays our other ax, or city defense I to have ax attack him first rather than ax-ax battle) and move that Ax into Mhasa as well.

And Stormbringer has had no state religion for last 2 turns, therefore The Voice is now 10 culture (fat cross covered).

What is the password for the save please?
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Scout should move south through the 2 Storm cities. From the screenshot it seems it doesn't really matter if it goes SE or SW. As SE is on a hill, I agree with Safan.

Also bt; please post a midturn, so somebody can continue the game...

Did the turn, moved scout SE as the vote in turnchat went 3:2 for SE:S.

We have to decide on promotion for that archer in Mhasa (CombatI/City Def I/Drill I).

Here's a spot on scout where it is now:

                I'd give it drill.

City def is the best for straight city defending, and combat for attacking inbound warriors(and later, more upgrade versatility). Drill is pretty meh IMO. it has maybe half the effectiveness as combat 1 generally speaking.

First Strikes get more effective the more of it you have, so our Chucks can benefit from it a lot, archers much less so. I'd also go for strait City Defense for now as thats all the archer will be doing. The Axeman also needs to be moved down to help protect the city or possibly the pasture if the barb decides to pillage. I'd actually like to see a Chuck move in if ones available as it can decisively crush the barb.

first strikes are better if the unit is already ahead in strength (such as archers in cities and/or hills). It gives them a greater chance of receiving less damage.

I think we should have more city garrisons to defend against barbarians.

I think we need more cities to lessen space from where barbarians can pop up.

                            About promotions:
                            This calculator - http://c4combat.narod.ru/c4c.htm
gives following values for archer + promotion vs ax:
Drill I: 7.0% (assumed the extra first strike chance actually worked)
                            Combat I: 12.3%
City Defense I (while defending in the open): 15.5%

So unless we're going to defend a city, I'd suggest Combat I.

with 5 archers and 7 axemen, on a hill or a city, drill 1 really shows it's worth.
