Moving scout towards Vox will not get that scouted sooner as chuk will get there on the same time.
We also planned the scout to recon somewhere between Vox and GS, going that route it'd likely be stuck and would have to run back anyways.
Also, running near Vox is dangerous if they really possess Horse Archers as reported.

Are we building a galley on Beijing next? We should stick a unit (archer?) on the hill on the small island (or even better, a city on one of the flat tiles) and send maybe a chuk on the boat to explore.

Scouts should do the exploring, not valuable military like a Chuck, if we plan a sea-born invasion thats another story. Though I do agree a Galley as next production in Begging is a good idea, but we should concentrate on the food and commerce to build the population back up and capitalize on the Bureaucracy bonus ASAP.

As Vox might have a whole mass of Horse archers in their last city we shouldn't send just one unit onto that hill as they can see and attack it. Send at least two possible more, though this will require us to delay a turn, theirs no sense in losing a good unit/s.

Beijing is currently building a monastery which it started before Library, also, to capitalize on our new advantages National Epic would be very nice.

We should also focus on settlers/infra for now as we've passed our unit limit by 2 units already.

Also, why should we put a unit on that lone island?
It's quite a time before anyone will be able to do a seaborne invasion.

The +10% research from monastery is probably a good reason to build it first. However, I'd rather build a galley there next instead of the National Epic (which is 250 hammers and we should wait for marble access) or settlers (which can be built in any city).

Why don't we just wait for Caravels?
At 100% we can have them in ~12 turns, which means some 16-18 with switching allocation.

I don't remember in vanila - can caravels carry scouts?

after we have caravels - we should get circumventing the globe asap. I would wip 2 caravels shortly after we can build them. A city on the east cost of the continent would be nice, we save the time to sail around it.

Yup, caravels will be used to circumvent the globe, we can use a galley now to explore the islands nearby.

A galley can be upgraded to Caravel for around 80 gold if its in our territory. A ~12 turn start on scouting with a galley would be somewhat usefull in scouting nearby islands but of no value in a curcum-navigation.

If we find a navagable arctic passage is possible we could create a fishing boat in Beijing that could sail fully around to the site of Splitsville to utilize the nearby clams and coinciding with a new and optimaly placed city that would serve as our formost East Coast port from which to probe for the other continent.
