The war of Banana liberation!

While scouting the desert a group of centaurians encountered a whole tribe of Banana people migrating west.
Asked what are they doing in the desert in these times when barbarians roam around free, people told that by their despot's Platypus XXX "The Mad" orders they are about to settle in desert.
The troop leader wondered what keeps them from just putting up with that crazy ruler and doing what is best for them and was informed that the Banana people live in slavery and are oppressed by an extensive warrior caste who are manipulating the ruler into issuing any order they like. Even now, there was an army nearby to just keep the people advancing and killing anyone who refused to or was too old or sick to continue the march through desert.
The troop leader invited the tribe to join the mighty Republic of Centauria, where people decide their fate themselves and where the great wisdom of Yang guides them in their paths. The tribe agreed under condition that they would be protected from any aggression from their former oppressors.
The general of the centaurian army and his loyal men were more than happy to provide the asylum and liberation and fulfill their request. They dropped onto unsuspecting Banana warriors in the middle of the night causing great panic and chaos and killed them all to the last man.
Because of his benevolent action a state of war now exists between Republic of Centauria and Banana despotic regime.
