And so it came to pass that the same hunter who discovered that sniffing crack is a very pleasant thing, one day sniffed too much and started running towards the sun screaming: "I believe I can fly!". He ran and ran for many days waking up with the sun and only getting some rest when sun set.
Of course, eventually his mind got free from the foul influences of that crazy crack stuff. He found himself in a fertile valley with all kinds of life. According to his hunter habit, he started to explore the valley and one morning upon stopping to drink from a stream of clear, sparkling water, he heard screams coming from the forest up-stream. He ran towards the spot and encountered a bear who was climbing a tree on whose branch a girl sat (and was obviously the source of crazy screaming).
Without wasting a second he drew his shiny new copper knife, ran to the bear the latter still not noticing him and stuck that copper knife deep into as.. erm back-side of the bear. The bear roared in great pain and hasted away taking with him the dagger.
The girl was very thankful for saving her life and invited the hunter to come with her to her village. The villagers where in awe of the young hunter upon hearing that he had single-handedly dealt with the bear. The village shaman, being the most thankful, as the girl was his daughter, asked what else besides the girl he wanted. Hunter, being rather surprised by the sudden and straightforward marriage proposal could only say that he'd like his knife back.
To that shaman answered that they make the best knives known and soon he was doing his mystical and magical stuff. To hunters surprise, the shaman was able to take metal and make it flow like a river by heating it and then turn back into metal by cooling it. Hunter had never seen such a feat before and asked what would it take to learn such magic. To that shaman answered "Take my daughter for wife and you have that magic with you". Hunter didn't really get the joke, but once he get home with his new wife, she revealed that she's no less adapt in those magics than her father as he had taught her everything he knew.
Some regarded her mastery a witchcraft and herself a demonic creature, but the wise men of centaurians saw the importance of this new skill and came to learn from her.
Soon, every man being smart enough knew how to cast metal and they did it both for purpose and as entertainment, creating various form and figures for ritual use and for kids to play with.
Over time these artifacts accumulated and became a burden to store or transport, so the tribe elders devised a great way to get rid of those old pieces of bronze - they were collected and piece by piece re-cast in parts of another figure - a statue of a man, but much much bigger in size. It was in these fruitful years of 900-850 when the last part - head of the statue was cast and the statue constructed just off the sea coast on a shallow bank.
Asked what is the purpose of such a big statue looking seawards the tribe elders answered that this is the statue of The One True Yang, who is looking for any enemies in the sea and protecting the city from pirates and other dangerous sea creatures.
Upon hearing this, one of the kids said 'Cool!'. No one knows what does it mean, but common people now call it Coolosus.
