How many active members to the people East of us have?
If it is less than us, then perhaps we could surrender to them. We could swamp them with members and, using our majority, take control of their government, oppress their women, abuse their children, pillage their nation, and laugh all the way to the bank.

I don't think we should kill them until we get a couple of techs off them, and even then I'd consider postponing the invasion if we don't have the prospect of finding another civ soon after that...

Im afraid there will be very little to get from them, knowing what their tech status is..

While this might be possible to do, it will put a mark on us for the rest of the game.

The only way we would get any Tech off them is if one of us goes to Alphabet before conquest which seems unlikley.

Considering the turn rate the main mark we would get would be that we dramaticaly spead up the game, and that were not to be messed with.

In conquering the nanas, I would expect to get their cities and land, and nothing else. This alone is worthwhile, though it would possibly make us a target. Meekness is not a defense, however.

Once we dominate the whole of our contninent we should determin if their are any coastal linkages to other land masses. If so we build a strong navy to defend with. If not we go pure Econ and try to be the first to cross the Open Oceans and THEN go navy. In any case we should be quite hard to take out untill the modern era.

Most of the teams we're facing have had marks and scars for some time already, so it won't be any difference for them.
Furthermore, if we don't have this 'mark' it gives nothing to us.

I like Impaler's proposal - we're likely to have good sea tech as it is required for boosting economy of coastal cities (up to compass), so we won't have problems quickly outputting some fleet should the need arise.

My only worry is that maybe on some other continent there are 3 civs, and probably one gets killed, but the remainder can easily outtech us if they cooperate.

Hell, even if there's only two-team islands, there's enough land for two civs to be more productive than only one...

In any case, if the bananas do not develop at a similar pace than us, then it's probably better to kill them anyway...

There's little we can do against a perma-pacted team of two, except to become as strong as possible.

Ganging up is a risky prospect tho, even if you don't get stabbed in the back you can't know if the other team is really planning to cooperate as much as you like or even if it's really able to cooperate on the level close to yours (if it's a backwater).
