I'd say the +2 merchant GPP and +6 culture alone are already pretty attractive this early in the game, for such a low price. But whatever, a setter would be fine to me too.

I thought you preferred to whip ASAP with 2 slaves
Organizing our worked-tiles so we get exactly 61/120 will most likely delay our whipping-moment even more than just maxing out hamers and using 1 slave.

Okay, to clear the confusion we should weight what's best - to wait for 61h and whip for one citizen or sacrifice 2 citizens.
If we see that 2 slave sacrifice is better, we should do that.

I see a little problem with having +2M GPPS before having our first Great Engineer - we could get unlucky and get a merchant instead.

Banana turntimes make me wish to conquer them asap..

It will certainly be worse as you cannot finish a wonder with a merchant, only get a tech.

But more important, conduct a trade mission! This makes them the best GP later in the game. Though true of course, this early in the game, a trade mission might result in less money than getting a tech.
early in the game the engineer is better as wonders tie up a city for too long, by the end game you're only sacrificing 1/15th of your production to build one (15 cities), at the start it's more than 1/2
Let's be realistic about trade missions - they require open borders and we're not planning such agreement so soon..

=> Focus on all-food and whip the forge with 2 slaves when we grow to pop 5
=> Focus on all-hamers and whip the forge with 1 slave after we have it 50% completed
Maybe a poll ? So far only bintravkin has expressed his opinion.
Judging from the comments here, we should maybe re-evaluate if starting the collosus immediately after the forge is really the best thing to do:
-> If we pop rush the forge with 2 pop, we won't have copper linked up yet, and won't get the double production speed from the beginning
-> We get great merchant points instead of great engineer points (what's our best oportunity to get great engineer points instead?)
-> Do we need something else soon, which can not wait untill after the collossus ?
But, these questions do not require a response before the next turn (in contrast to the 1 or 2 poprush).
Oh yes, I do agree with the conquer the banana's crowd

Let's vote here.
I vote all-food and two slaves, because all food has a side effect of gold, while hammers don't.

I guess there's nothing REALLY needed that we could build before Colossus, but a settler would be more useful.
There's only one problem with settler - it will cancel growth, so we'll be stuck with 3 citizens (decisions, decisions )
