I say let him in, I don't think anoyone is low enough to cheat in a DG, if that's what you're worried about

Well, dmm1285, if I was as optimistic as you, I'd let him in without thought too, but unfortunately there is some expierence with such guys..
I will make an official statement tomorrow, Im too tired to do it now.
Meanwhile you can express ideas about how test should look like (how many questions, type o questions - give an example, etc).

test? all i can say is...your kidding right? What if half the people here couldnt even pass it? kick everyone out?

Its quite simple. You are either an ACer or not. if he could give a url to even one PBEM he has played in or threads he was in, i would be OK. But as it is, i thought the civgroup was about ACers only. Personaly-i would let him in, but then we might as well not call our team the AC team. so on legal grounds i wouldnt let him in, but it seems silly not too...in other words, i completely delegate my vote to whoever is in charge

Also, as far as im concered he fits the bill perfect for a smurf. only an ip check could say for sure. that name screams smurf, not that i care that much... and even an IP check dosnt do jack. I can run smurfs(DLs as you call them) on up to eight different IP's at once, out of two completely different locales. 2 here, 6 remotely. (maybe 3 ISP's availaible) but probably only 1 of those six IP's as some of them are being used on puters right now.

Using VPN routing and Vmware i can(and do) run a second windows console remotely with a completely new IP which is in a different 'ip map' region. cool stuff

I think a very simple SMAC question (What would be better to attack with, a crawler or a chopper?) would suffice.

We want people who are at least somewhat active (hence needing to reply to a PM), who can understand simple English, who have at least a basic knowledge of SMAC and who aren't joining just because it is a faction they can join.

In my experience, 75% of new logins will fail the "reply to a PM" test.

            How about this.

            What does SMAC stand for.
            Do they answer a PM.

Well, once can find SMAC abbreviation somewhere here, simply by looking at what the members have in common in civgroups..

Skanky, is this guy the same as over @Eventis?

I think we can allow -Safan- without test

                  Don't know about Nestor.

About the PM test: can somebody send me a pm once, so I can see how the notification is given (if there is one at all) ?

Safan has posted occassionally in SMAC forums.
I let him in because he is known and is very unlikely to be a DL.
