    We desparately need more workers. In SP, I usually whip them, without much regard for happiness. If whip weariness becomes troublesome then I whip unhappy people away with temples or other happiness creating things (e.g. MP).

    I firmly beleive that this is the best thing to do at the moment, since workers can also hook up happiness resources (e.g. we have gold and incense in our borders but they aren't online yet). Once we establish other cities, Taz can run two scientists (with pacifism) while whip weariness wears off.

    I know that some people prefer to stiffle growth by training workers without the whip. (e.g at 6 pop Taz has about 8 excess food, and 1 hammer which can be used to train a worker in about 7 turns). If that is you, now is the time to put forward your case

      I tend to be a staunch proponent of whipping ruthlessly when that whipping will accelerate the acquisition of happy resources, it is win-win.

      You only want to stall growth when you can't acquire more happy.

          do I translate this correctly as saying: "whenever an extra whipping gives us 1 more happy, it is worth it"? Meaning that in case that by whipping you can secure an extra happy it's ok, if an extra whipping when not having gone through the whole unhappiness period witout immediate access to a happy resource is not worth it?
