If they are on our river... well, it makes a war of capture that much more attractive.
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Duas uncias in puncta mortalis est.

They are on our river, T.

The trade route opened up before any roads could possibly have been built.

look in the demographics, someone's got a lot more land than us..

According to their powergraph they havnt. The wheel equals 4000 soldiers.. we would've seen that jump.

Like I said a couple of turns ago, their scout could have gone to the South, spotting us very early on, and staying away from our borders to give us the impression they were on our West. Good thing Grog found them now, instead of in a few more turns...

There's only one direction for Grog: 3. Vox' borders are expanded once more because of Hinduism, so there is no chance of seeing their tiles unless we enter their borders. Right now, they won't attack a forest-warrior, but they're very likely to do so in a couple of turns, when they've got 3 warriors. If we don't scout them now, we'll need to wait for skirmishers.

Also note that the forest 666 of EotS is a prime defensive position for us. That tile, and the river hill 66669 of EotS are likely to be very contested tiles as they give covered paths to both capitals. The river hill 333 of EotS is very high on our list of tiles we need to place a scout there too. And asap, or our worker won't be safe (well, at least they could harrass him)

I take back what I said of needing another warrior before our worker, one of our highest priorities right now is getting roads onto the forests towards Vox.

That's what i thought, take a look at this:

According to this, Vox has ONE warrior

How many turns would they be from archery, 4? 3 perhaps? I can imagine they'd be risking everything to go for archery asap, but that also means that if they don't switch to a warrior, they are risking a lot.

Excellent chance of putting Grog next to their capital. If we can disrupt their strategy by forcing them to build more warriors asap we can gain another turn tech-wise.

Hmmm think they'll get a warrior in one or two turns, just thought they'd try to increase their hammers for a bit, must've figured they could max out hammers to spam some warriors out relativetly easy if we approached them. Being this close however it is hard to figure that they could skip archery and take a shot at BW. Or they just gambeled, didnt think we'd be "foolish" enought to attack them, hopeing to beat us to the copper close by(?) and guarantee their dominant position..

For Vox, there's only one option right now: archery asap. Even if they were on BW, they will have switched: they need the sure defenders before we can bring in skirms. BW is too much of a gamble: they can't defend a possible mine.

Remind me, what did Vox start with: hunting and what other tech? Mining?

As for our worker, it seems to me that the next couple of actions are already fixed as well.

                            1. mine on the sheep
                            2. road on EotS 9
                            3. road on EotS 66
                            4. road on EotS 666
                            5. road on EotS 6669
                            6. road on EotS 66696

The moment we complete the 6669 road, we shaved off 2 turns towards them. The 66696 road will make the position retreatable as well, so that our units can heal inside our own territory

Oh, and the first forest to go has to be EotS 3: we need to break their covered approach into our capital...
