  • Name the river

It is the lifeblood of our civilization. Though our homeland is parched by the baking sun, each spring the river surges across the earth, bringing water to renew our crops and nuture our bodies.

Just above our small village, the river breaks through the hills and drops a hundred feet to the plain below. The foaming pool beneath the falls is littered with cracked and shattered rocks, testament to the power within. The rumbling drumbeat of the falls echoes across the plain to the far horizon, ceaselessly reminding us of the vitality and majesty of the river.

It brings life to our land, food to our children, doom to our enemies. Can you hear it raging?

    It is the Thunder River.

[Just my two cents...alternative names can be proposed below!]

I'm in no hurry to name landmarks - wait until we know more of the geography and have some history before we start throwing names around the place.

Thunder river is a good name for a Stormian landmark though

Thunder River is fine, even though I never understood the anglo-saxon habit of calling a river River. Hereabouts rivers have simple names (Elbe, Donau, Rhein), and the knowledge, that they're rivers, has to be earned.

Sometimes we even put the "river" part first. Ex: the River Plate.

The Thunder River sounds fine to me.
