Also, at 3840 warrior two is 3/15 hammers. From 3760 bc (when our borders pop) we can get 4 hammers per turn (by working the forested plains hill) and we will have 5/15 production already complete, which means we could finish warrior two in three turns from that point. This should allow us a little more leeway, because worst case scenario we can forget growth in EotS and churn out the warrior for protection.

I'm in favour of going 7-9 rather than 9-7 for the next two moves - I don't think that the extra scouting potential (seeing possible mountains or hills in three squares) is worth the (admittedly) slight risk in roaming further away and in less defensible terrain.

It's not a big issue, but I'm slightly more in favour of being a little cautious until we have a tad more information to work with.

Can we get some more opinions on moving 7 vs. 9 this turn?

          7, por favor

Moved 7 on the opinion of: Theseus, NYE, Mudhut, vulture, and myself, with Arrian's consent in the turn thread.

With some bonus land revealed by the hut, as well as learning two new huts locations, I imagine the plans here will change. We should snag those huts before anyone else does.

The obvious route now is 9-8-7-7-7 to get th enext hut, taking in a nice hill on the way. There is potentially a dangerous woodsmanII route in from the SW, where we could only get 1 turns notice before losing EotS, but how likely it is that there is a civ in that direction? The coast slopes down to the south, and we know we are pretty far south (from the tundra, obviously), so it seems likely that we have the end of a peninsula just out of sight in the darkness. It could be a thin land bridge that balloons out again on the other side, but then you'd expect the nearest civ to be some distance away on the other side of the bridge, and not near enough to get here quickly.

Also looks like we have hills NE of the northern hut, although that might be a little too far away for everyone's tastes until we get warrior #2 set up and growling.

I too think 9-8-7-7-7 is a good option. It's not without risk, but we are within 3 turns of EOTS until such a time as warrior two can be "rushed" (rushed here meaning changing from flood plains to forested plains hill to boost hammers) if we see someone coming.

Will update graphic in a little bit.
