    We challange the Horde and maybe one or two other teams to a side game.

    We start now. We include AIs or we don't.

    We agree that the main game takes precedence, once it starts.

    We get something done.

      Now, do the rest of you support GS in a side game?

      I will take responsibility for making sure we play turns. This forum can participate as desired. But even alone, I feel I could tan these hides with three feet cut off!

          It can't hurt. Since it's just a side game, a small map is prolly the way to go...

          edit: or maybe it would be good to play a setup that is distinctly different from the setup we will use in the "real" game. Like, say, a Highlands map? I happen to be playing my first game on such a map and it's a bunch of fun.

              OK. I've proposed the idea to Paddy in a PBEM set up thread. If they bite we can get their help to recruit a third and fourth.

                side game rage = good

                assume probability of winning main game = 1/7 (modified by team capabilities; given GS v. other teams, perhaps 1/5ish or so)

                assume we accept side game w/4 players only. approx. chance of winning = 1/4

                chance of winning both = 1/4 * 1/5 = 1/20 (improbable as hell, but we'd be gods if we pulled it off)

                chance of winning one = .35 (difference between win both/lose both)

                chance of losing both = 3/4 * 4/5 = 0.6

                which means over 1/3 we salvage some dignity vs. alternative of 20% win main game: 15% increase

                = let's make it happen (assuming ppl. want to play the side game as well; discounting the LET'S PLAY SOMETHING FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST factor, which is significant to be sure)
