My opinions remain consistent. So I cut and pasted my last set of opinions and analysis and will edit.

Printing Press- This is my choice because it will give an immediate impact of +22 Commerce. (Same)

With the continued priority being given to military units, build queues won't have room for buildings or wonders so Banking won't have immediate impact.

Music- At this point it could be researched one step before Military Tradition. It provides no immediate impact. In my opinion this should be the step before Military Tradition.

Nationalism (and the Taj Mahal's Golden Age,) in my opinion should wait until war with India is wrapped up. That way the Golden Age will impact all the construction of Banks and Universities and other buildings.

Gunpowder- For those who seek Gunpowder, let us take advantage of the research bonus of having Education before we research Gunpowder. So if you want Gunpowder vote Education at this time.

Education- Provides Universities which we don't have time to build. It also leads to Liberalism.

There has been concern expressed about naval superiority. We currently possess the most powerful naval unit (Galleons.) Nobody else can currently build Galleons.

Aztecs still need Astronomy. I would suspect they will give priority to Guilds and Civil Service.
Arabia and Rome still need Calendars so they are at least 2 steps (Calendars-Astronomy) away from Galleons.
Greece needs Machinery so they are at least 3 steps (Machinery-Optics-Astronomy) away.
France and India both needs Compass and Machinery so they are at least 4 steps (Compass-Machinery-Optics-Astronomy) away.
(This part hasn't changed from last time.)

I don't think any of them will bee-line for Astronomy.

Sorry, one additional thought. In the longer term I think we research all six above and then Military Tradition and let the Cossack hordes sweep across the continent of our choice.

Education, then Liberalism (free tech Printing Press).

Then either Banking or beeline for Cossacks.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

My line is still for Banking. The short time it takes to get this and the larger benefits it brings than any of the others makes this the stronger play.

For two turns we get 50% gold in any city which can start building a bank earlier than it would do prior to this.

Education brings about half the benefit although one could argue that this also accelerates Oxford to so perhaps about the same benefit but a longer research time.

Liberalism brings +2gpt from towns +10% Research - Not enough to put it ahead of Banking

Education, mostly for Liberalism (Free Religion for hapiness, Free

Speech for commerce and Free Tech=Printing Press for commerce).

            Best regards,

What is the numerial benefit from Free Religion/Free Speech? If it is less than twice the benefit from Printing Press then PP is the better option.

Free Speech shall give imediately (9x2) 18 commerce before mods.

10% from Free Religion shall give imediately more than 30 beakers/

turn (450 basic commerce/2+14 scientists+3 settled GM) even with

                slider at 50%.

Still more important: we receive now incense, gems (from France) and

furs (from Greece); if these 3 happiness resources are taken away

some of our cities become imediately unhappy.

So, it pays well to delay P.P. by 5/6 turns and Banking by 11/12

(and,as already said, our cities cannot build banks right now).

                Best regards,

Why would we lose any of those resources. As it is the happiness bonus is minimal and you have already stated that the spread of religions is going to be slow – well you didn’t say it would be but what you said means that it will be. So the happiness issue is almost irrelevant and we are, in any case, talking about a delay in Free Religion and Free Speech by 2 turns. So that’s about 110-120 beakers/gold lost by the delay

If we delay a bank in Paddyton by 10 turns, we lose something of the order of 140 gold. And this is just one city.

I think you’ve missed something quite big here.

Education here, as our troops get equiped with more advanced tools we need them to at least be capable of signing their wills
