Anyone else with Amazon?

Actually Amazon does not charge you until they actually ship.

This is my worst experience with Amazon for shipping, although this is also the only time I have pre-ordered a game. For books, a day or two doesn't bother me so I never check to see if they ship on time, I think they do though.

Delivery for me is now scheduled for tomorrow 8/28 by UPS. Amazon, however, still tells me that delivery is scheduled for yesterday.

In any event, I think you can't go wrong with Amazon because you can cancel at any time prior to "preparing to ship" without penalty and for stuff that has already left you can return it at their expense. So worst case I knew I could just buy the game elsewhere and cancel or return.

you know what, I would accept that, BUT

I went to amazon when I was at work, saw that CIV IV could be purchased 2 days ago..remember I preordered a few weeks ago...
If 2 days ago I had clicked purchase and paid the freight..as long as I did it within the nexty 8 hours and 17 minutes I could have had the game yesterday

I was like..wtf(what the frick)

But I sent them another email just now not as nice as previous

the other night I sent them and they had two different and conflicting emais
the third was stuttering and backing up

Oh well.they got me money and now I am their B!@tCH

I changed my preorder from EB to Amazon at the beginning of October and my order is in the hands of UPS now

I'm thinking they are putting me last because I selected the "super saver" option. I sent an email demanding 1 day delivery... We will see if that does anything.

Yeah, perhaps, but how likely will they comply?

I'm just really bummed out that my order hasn't been shipped yet. If I could get the cool release of the game in EB or Best Buy, I would most certainly do that, but they only carry the "standard" version.

So, let's review. You sign up to get the first, "special" release of the game delivered to your house, but the standard version is available in stores before they even fulfill the order.

Yeah, I'm bitter. I should've done the EB thing.

If I had known Amazon was going to have this much difficulty, I wouldn't have cancelled my EB preorder, but what's done is done.

I originally had super saver for the same reason, but as soon as I saw the difficulties start cropping up, I upgraded to 1 day shipping. I should get it tomorrow now

Of course, that's the last of my money that Amazon will ever get, but I'm not going to change now and risk it

Edit: My copy left Reno not too long ago...bound for Upstate New York
