They have the game in Australian stores but you can't buy them until November 4th?

So EB AU has the official pre-order edition?

When I rang they weren't sure, so I forked the extra cash to get it from EB online... I think it will cost $AUD105

ulyanov mate, i don't know what your local EB store told you but i had the box in my hands, yes i could had distracted the manager , ordered him to surrender his copy locked away at the back, or put down my deposit, knowing i will get my copy now for $79.95 minus the $10 deposit already,

10 more sleeps until civ4 or maybe sooner

          cheers

well, they just weren't sure. This was about a fortnight ago.

No biggie - they also quoted ninety bucks for it, but again, things may have changed.

I didn't want to miss out on the pre-order edition, so I'll live with my choice.

Besides, it will cost me an hour and 5 bucks worth of fuel to drive to that hell-hole called Narre Warren to pick up...

Box doesn't neccisarily mean game, I know that my local Gamestop has demo boxes on display behind the counter all the time and I suppose they might possibly let me look at it if I asked all nice, in fact I've seen them on display in front of the counter more than once where the intention is obviously to get you to pick it up and look at it, they are clearly labeled as such though and are empty so the weight would clue you off if you weren't paying attention to the big bold solicitation to pre-order/reserve.

BT_OZ makes it sounds like the real deal though, which can happen, I know there was a flap in Sweden (I think it was Sweden, could be wrong though) over some store selling Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion before the offical release date, so stores can definetly have a game before they are allowed to sell it.

Now, if only one owned such a store...
