Won't happen, I can restrain myself. I have waited on games for more than a month before, when they come too near Christmas and I have had little money.

Yep, I did. Again with the Free Stuff (tm) and the cool Navy Packaging...

EB Games just asked me for some extra Credit Card info (just the name of the bank) because I'm in Oz. Any ideas why they don't use the verification codes on the card?

          Lurk Mode Off.

No, I'm having to wait to Christmas for my copy

          Cheers

          Steve

          Lurk Mode on.

            I've pre-ordered, naturally.

Ordered via Amazon. Not shipped as of this morning, I cancelled my order. Fry's in Wilsonville said they'd have it tomorrow.

I've come to the conclusion it does zero good to preorder unless you have a phobia about leaving your house. The crackdown due to early delivery/shelving really is too bad for the geek who desires his software right away.

The two games I had to have this fall were Civ IV and Age of Empires III. Was shocked to find you can't get games at midnight of the release date anymore.

                  I no longer care.

I'd rather be playing the game than waiting on Firaxis and Amazon to figure out when the release date actually is.

Free music CD for the win!!!

There is no extra charge to pre-order in the states, and you get free stuff as a result, so I don't see a downside.

I get to pick the game up from the same EB that I would have bought the normal version from anyway. It's a no-brainer for me.

Same here. I had my copy shipped to the brick and motar joint. That way, if "my copy" is not there, I can still get it today and will not have had to pay for two copies (the one bought at the store and the one that would have arrived at my adress). EB games does not make you prepay for copies sent to the store.

Other than I stated earlier in this thread I ordered the game online. I have collected some wife faction points in the last weeks to afford it "politically". But I did not pre-order it, I just found a site which is already shipping it now (instead of Nov 4), and used that opportunity.

I just confessed it to the missus... she grumbled for a moment, but then graciously approved!

Shiit... My preorder has changed to Nov 4th... I thought I'd get a mail about it, as I've seen several others on this site talk of the continued info on such things. I didn't. I thought that it was weird they didn't send me any mail two days before they said they'd get it, so I checked their site, and there the date was changed...
