    Ok, now I'm confused. Wasn't the map setting we had Archipelago with everyone on their own island?

    But if there's another Archipelago that makes snaky continents I'm satisfied

        No, they ran map generator at an '11 continent' setting to force everyone on their own continent. (lower left corner example)

        If you use the IN GAME generator (an option in the poll here), you end up with a random number of landmasses that are snakey continents, AFAIK. I don't recall being able to assign a number of landmasses for the IN GAME Archipelago map.

        I've used shuffle long enough I could be forgetting such an option, however, but I only recall that for an "Islands" map.

            Using the in-game generator will either require many restarts or editting to make sure everyone is contactable by galleys (still a goal here, right?). If you're willing to do that, great, but from looking at it, we can probably accomplish the similar through different settings on mapgen and cut down your time needed. I don't think it's limited so much as we didn't understand how to get what was wanted out of it.

                  I strongly do not want "one civ per whatever". Beyond that I honestly couldn't care less, but more than one civ per (landmass).

                    Planet Generator is far more powerful than the in game one and will save Elucidus having to spend the whole of this Saturday making/moding a map bit by bit............

                        I'm cool with a map like the example in the upper left hand corner.

                        That looks like archapelago (snakey contenants, whatever) to me. Why Keygen said that 11 continants was the closest to archapelago is beyond me after seeing that map example.

                        I think (and i may be wrong) the main concensus was that we wanted a watery map, but not islands.

                        The upper left hand example seems to achive this. The middle bottom map wouldn't be bad either.

                        The generator is a good tool, and i think we should use it. However, there needs to be a poll that points to ACTUAL PICTURE examples like in the image above.

                          I agree that something like the top left picture was what we're after but more than a single continent (not ruling out some civs may have an island) with a check to see that nobody ends on an optics isolated island.

                            UnO's top left map is exactly what I thought we were all voting for. Hopefully, we can recreate it for this game.
