As I admitted earlier maybe I am a bit too sensitive sometimes, especially when I spend the better part of my Saturday trying to figure out why a game I committed to host would not work, when all of the other ones I am currently hosting had no problems.
I take my commitments seriously believe it or not. I should not have let a personality conflict diminish my commitment I made to all of you.
This is not my first game admin'ing experience nor is it the first game I have hosted, by far in either case (albeit the first time I had one use port 2060. )
In my admin'ing experience there are some things I have learned. First of all, our decisions are final (Platypus and my own). I know this is a democracy game, but we are here to administer it and if we allow players or teams to contest or "pout" about judgements they do not like, then chaos will ensue and the game will break apart. It has happened and will happen again, if allowed to occur.
This is a PTBS game, not all of the rules and issues of a PBEM game apply. As such there will be a learning curve on everyone's part, but again if a decision is needed by the admins, once it is made it is final. Double moves in particular are something that will have to be voted on post haste, if not done already.
The moderators of this forum, Keygen, CyberShy, Gramphos, Locutus, Solver, are just that, moderators of this forum and have nothing to do with the game. The admins of this site, have absolute power over this forum, but still no authority over the game. An opinion expressed by any of them related to this game, is just that an opinion. However, they are the authority on what goes on on this forum. Heed there words and warnings well, or you may not be able to come back. Don't get heated, this is only a game. And remember, each screenname has a person behind it, that person has a right to be respected, even if their opinion differs from your own. Even if you believe in all your heart that they are wrong to the core...they are allowed to be wrong.
Now, the rulings posted by either admin are law. We will not make a ruling without confering with the other, unless there is an extended or undetermined absence of either admin. If there is an emergency ruling that needs to be made immediately then the decision will be made by the first of us to discover its need and it will be a tentative ruling, until such time that we confer, the ruling is still law to the players and will be made full after conference.
Further, the map, you can either have Archipeligo or the Planet Generator, not both. Vote on it.
These are the rules of the game, if I am to host it. Platypus Rex helped me with this and agrees fully. This is not about power or control this is about the order required for this game to run to completion. It will only enhance the fun of the game, as long as you don't try and fight the rules.
I am sure it will be an honor to host this game and to administer it. Please make whatever polls you need to, to get the game rolling again. Archipeligo / Planet Generator and possibly one on double moves.
I will not be able to set the game up again for about 12 hours, so you have some time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Lets all have a fun and orderly game.
Sincerely,
~Elucidus
