As an admin, I can't zap a civ.

I respect your opinion, but think about this : if I were the neighbour of the staff team civ, which does NOTHING, it would be for me a great pleasure to rush an attack and to give (EDIT :take) his cities. Doing this, I would become stronger and get a good option to win this game.

If I understand correctly, you prefer this scenario rather than giving this civ a chance to grow, despite it would be played by an AI for a while (while waiting human players to come).

Please confirm your position : I would in this case consider to stop hosting this game.

I would say a CIV going unplayed is the worst.

Converting to AI is the next worst.

Competely removing the CIV is the best of three bad choices.

Calling this game over, and restarting with BTS and less teams who all confirm they have at least 3 turn players is the best option, but for some reason we always feel we need to beat a dead horse at Apoly, and try to save "lost" games

personally i would have liked the time clock turned to 24 or even 36 hours as well

No, you can connect as the admin to any civ and press the Retire button, but as a result you have that civ converted to an AI civ.

I've also tried with the saveconvert utility, but you don't have the option of eliminating a Civ. You can only do the conversion human <--> AI.

BTW, snoopy has played yesterday. Will that mean that he remains interested on the game ? We need a clear answer.

Snoopy, please, can you tell us if you or other mates are interested in the long term ?

Is it staff policy to completely ignore whole sections of this site ? it certainly appears that way, no wonder other sites have far greater activity than this place.

If we can't zap tyhe CIV, then convert it to AI and move on.

Or just kill this game (since IMHO its doomed anyway), and go to a BTS game with fewer teams (mandatory), and each team needs at least three dedicated turnplayers minimum (mandatory)

Snoopy hasn't played yesterday, while posting elsewhere in the forum... I'm convinced now that he will not continue this game.

The problem is that we are at level emperor, so, if I convert his civ into an AI, the civ will grow very fast and become stronger than us, human civs. It's not acceptable.

There are two solutions.

1) We find rapidly other players (not necessarily in the staff) to play this civ. If its ok, we have the problem they will not have a private forum. Perhaps its not a big problem, but this new team needs motivation to start playing an underdeveloped civ.

2) we stop definately this game and start a new game under BTS. We have 10 private forums available, we can go !

It would be fine if we decide this before the restart at January 6.

A third solution is that Team Apolyton could be 'frozen in time' so to speak, ie that you as admin ends the turn for Team Apolyton without doing anything. You can do that, right?

However this is not an option if more teams are to drop out...

I think their absence speaks for itself...

It's a real shame since this game is starting to get back on track with a new Goonies team and a good rock solid host in astrologix... I really don't want to end this game just yet. I'm willing to take the risk of Team Apolytons neighbours getting a stroke of luck here. It's not certain that this will win them the game (it's a long way to go yet...)
