It's trivial to finish a game in Deity. Winning is another matter, although that's not too difficult if you pick the right settings. Winning under 'usual' settings is much more difficult, though by no means impossible.Originally posted by Keygen

Upkeep, happiness, health, and barbarians are the main differences as I recall (I may be missing some, can't remember off the top of my head). Plus of course research becomes more expensive the higher you go up. So difficulty level actually is fairly relevant.Originally posted by Rhothaerill
Doesn't matter as much with no AIs (and that's the way I voted in the other poll) so how about Prince?
I would say absolutely no lower than Noble, since otherwise technology progresses at breakneck pace. I personally voted for Monarch (the first vote ), but I'd be happy with anything higher than that too.

Emperor precedes pretty clear, with Immortal and Prince following in the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.Comment

I voted Monarch.
Puts more emphisis on resorces (like someone mentioned earlier), plus makes expansive/charismatic traits more important.
Emp or Diety will slow things down too much imo, but are prefered to Warlord or Cheiften.Comment
