Stay away from maps that will isolate folks and possibly isolate a team from the other teams.

Have everyone on one landmass, these games are hard enough to finish as it is.............

How about we use "Planet Generator"?

It seems to be a nice tool.

Welcome Magno_uy! Good to see you again.

And Magno and con do raise valid concerns about island and arrrrrrchaepelago starts, and the separation it creates.

I think we want a wild and wooly game - not a slow paced game with everyone building on their own patch of grass.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

The problem with inland sea is the no-wrapping. Leave that for the MP team games.

Why not? I have found it to be an excellent demo and MP game map - and gets everyone interacting very early in the game.

I'm pretty sure you can wrap in two and four directions with Warlords on the flat maps.

Let your every day be full of joy, love the child that holds your hand, let your wife delight in your embrace, for these alone are the concerns of humanity.

Use a fractal map, with low sealevel. The few islands separated from the main continent are *mostly* in coastal range then.

IMO it has been done so many times before............

                          Lets do something different!

And I thought you could apply the wrapping maps to all settings in Warlords?

From my Apolyton experience - and I acknowledge that is limited to Civ3 and Civ4, pangaea was used in only one demo game that I am aware of - and that was the C3CDG. The others all used continents, AFAIK.

Will look into the wrapping matter.

One o them snakey pseudo-pangeas that Archipelago low sea level sometimes kicks out would be interesting.

You know, usually 1-2 landmasses, everything pretty much contactable by galleys, choke points everywhere.

Would definately need to be previewed to ensure fair starts, though.

Been a while since I looked at fractal. That might do as well.
