However there is the question of making sure we have enough people for the number of teams

I suggest we set a maximum number of teams and see how many we fill out. Minimum 5 players per team, or something.

Just to throw out something different, let's get creative here.

3 "teams" in a locked alliance game where each team controls 2 civs, or something of the like.

My preference would be for more, but smaller teams. I was thinking of 5 or 6 per team myself, with maybe 8 or 10 teams. That would be a good rumble.

I think it would also be good if we broke up some of the traditional team blocks, hence my push for smaller yet more teams.

UnO - I am not opposed to a team game; but there is already a one vs one game involving a number of players from the site, and again, I was thinking of someway of really juggling things up.

In fact, someone mentioned something earlier - I can't recall who it is - so my apologies for repeating your idea whoever it was - but assign 8 or 10 team leaders and have a draft. Not sure this would work. Demo teams tend to be pretty tight. Maybe best that we just put out the call for teams.

Sorry - just thinking aloud here.

Long story. They moved the game to CGN.

You could always just randomly assign people to teams, which would shake things up without the favoritism that gets included in a draft. It would have to worked out in such a way so that a bunch of people who planned to lurk in the games aren't assigned to one team, but that could be solved easily.

But then all the mercenary nay-sayers might get stuck on the mercenary team.

(honestly think some of them would come around if they were, frankly...)

This may work as well. Maybe we need the eligible players to indicate if the want to be (a) a turn player (b) not a turn player but active or (c) lurker for now.

The a's, b's, and c's can then be randomly assigned, which would help balance the teams.
