What am I supposed to do? I mean, I have to download a program, the pitboss software, or what? And what else?

Well, snoopy seems to know it best. But here is what I do know. The pitboss software loads when you load Warlords. It is best if you add the pitboss.exe to you desktop. That is the program you run to set up the game; it is different from the regual Warlords multi-playing screen and lobby. I have walked through it a bit just to get familiar, but as of yet, have not hosted a game. Hence, my referral to snoopy.

Aro - may I suggest that you start up a 4 player pitboss game for snoopy369, conmcb25, you and me. This can be a test game. We will abandon it as soon as we get it running smoothly. So why don't you pick civs for us, set the turn timer to 24 hours, set up the appropriate map, etc, and we will play a few turns. Just to to make sure everything runs as it should.

Basically:
1. Run the PiTBoSs EXE. It's in the /P_F/SMC4/Warlords/ directory.
2. Choose "no mod", "Internet", "new game", etc.
That should be enough. Make sure to use an alternate Gamespy login (unless you're going DirectIP and have a static IP or a DynDNS entry) since you need to use your regular one to host it

I think it is time we got this back on track. Aro is willing to host, and we may be able to twist Vondrack's arm as well.

Perhaps it could be a good idea to run PitBoss in a virtual machine as it's a more flexible solution and you will be able to host more PitBoss games in a similar manner in the future if you want to
