This thread has been started on the main boards.

This is actually a very good question and one I was going to raise here ... what do we think about Templar's joining PAL. I feel certain that they would inject an air of 'lets screw RB' into their forum. The only question is, would it increase the 'lets screw RB' efforts of PAL or decrease that effort?

If they join PAL they will whine, get sworn at, and add no skill to the team. It's slightly possible they would log in and misclick something, which would help us a bit.

PAL already realizes that we are the only real threat to their victory. So they can't be any more opposed to us than they already are. I am more worried about Rabbits and Banana. However, if they do implement the 15-30 turn cooldown period Banana will be gone by then. And Rabbits are too far backwards to make a difference.

So I'd be fine with the "refugees can join other teams, but must wait at least 20 turns after their team is eliminated" rule.

        I agree with Zeviz.

Yeah, 20 turns delay seems reasonable, and there's Krill to check for spoilers as well.

Thanks Sunrise, that really made my day!

do we want to post something in the public thread?

That seems a little dodgy to me - you can instantly jump onto another team, with full spoiler knowledge and everything? - but then again this *IS* the Templars, so I can't possibly see what advantage they would bring to PAL.

I don't see where any Templars joining PAL would be any spoiler leak where we'd have cause for complaint. Templars were always at liberty to tell PAL anything they know anyway, whether it came from us or was in-game knowledge. And anything the Templars know could just be told to PAL through outside channels.

I do see where we might want to rebuff any Templar refugee attempts to join our own forum. Tinfoil hat mode on, but it's certainly possible for one Templar in our forum to pass info to another Templar in PAL's forum.

Yeah it kind of seems that, given the people on these teams have some sort of loyalty to each other, that they shouldn't be allowed to join multiple other teams' forums, right, for the reasons that T-hawk suggested?

Hmmm, I thought the members of the first team out get a permaban from apolyton.net?!

I think refugees should be allowed to join any team they want. If they do not obey forum spoiler rules, that is something to take up outside of the game.

I know, I would not accept Templar refugees into the RB team for this game. Too much bad blood, too much potential for conflict.

And the forum would probably need a lot of 'cleaning' before they arrived too...

Well, refugees can apply anywhere they want, we don't need a rule against that. Whether to accept them is up to each team. If one Templar joins Imperio and another Templar joins PAL, that's the business of Imperio and PAL as to whether to accept them, it's not any of our business.

I'd feel best not accepting Templar refugees into the RB forum, and that does seem to be the consensus here.

If anything, I think ex-Templars should be encouraged to join Banana, just to give that team some extra manpower.

Hmm...I think Templars joining Banana would suck for us.

There'll be no joining Banana as their group is closed. IIRC Donovan signed up on condition he could fly solo.
