Don't they have instant replay in Cricket? They've been using it in American Football for some time, and even have it in baseball now. I thought they liked instant replay more in Europe, since they often overturn the results of F1 races even after the races have ended

They are moving to the referral system in October. This series (and the WI / Bangladesh series) are the last two to be played under the old system. You have to remember that Cricket is about history, tradition, etc and moving to a new fangled TV replay system is slow going.Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

That said, 1 bad section of play can certainly lose you the game. Australia lost this game early on the 2nd day when they crumpled in their first innings, the balance of the game was involved England keeping their foot on the Aussie throat and not given them a chance to get off the mat.Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

**Off Topic**
This is even off the off topic, but I wanted to say that I laughed reading in T-Hawk's Epic 25 report: "City three was a real Pink Dot moment" with the elephant training grounds being then named "Pink Dot." And then the name is brought up several times in the discussion thread as if it were obviously a fine name for a city.
Now seriously, there must be at least a few people who read that and aren't following this game. What must they be thinking?
Anyway, I wonder how Naldo will respond...in game.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but dotmaps were used before than, at least in Poly in C2 demogames.
Obviously the Pink Dot notation is more a cultural thing and hence hasn't been used here. You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Heh, I actually wasn't aware of any particular usage of Pink as a dot color before our city in this game. But RB events have a long history of amusing dot colors. I recall a discussion about a Dirt-Colored Dot sometime, and there was one Civ 3 SG with Soviet Russia where every dot was red dot.
I was also going for the "pink elephants" pun in Epic 25, but not sure if anybody noticed.

I can't speak for what was going on at Apolyton, but certainly the dotmapping notation became popular with our RB community due to the Civ3 succession games run at CivFanatics, back in early 2002. The idea of using colors (as opposed to letters, or anything else) stemmed from there, as well as phrases like "smoking the pungent weed" and use of that smiley face. "Pink Dot" came about because Sirian started making the most important location on all of his dotmaps pink. This was further popularized by us sticking Santa Rosa (Pink Dot) in an aggressive spot in the Cuban Isolationists game, which became crazy popular for some reason.
Lots of the lexicon from those early succession games hasn't survived (characters like Pepe the M'eer, Deacon's Beacon, the spice gambit, Phoenix and New Bombay, etc.) but the dotmapping has.
