Well we can double-draft SF and/or CB next turn if we want.

But do we want to? Between war weariness, whipping penalties, and the impending loss of Imperio's gold resource, I would prefer we hold off on double-drafting cities unless there's a great need. We're about halfway through our first drafting cycle, and we can start raising large numbers of conscripts in another 5t. I would recommend waiting unless sunrise sees an urgent need for more Oromos.

Those two cities are so far below the hapiness cap that it doesn't matter. It would only be be a double hit for 5 turns. Saxon too is easily double-draftable.
The main drawback is not hapiness but the loss of the population. Saxon and SF in particular have good tiles to work and drafting them stunts their long term prospects. But probably overall the oromo is worth it.

I guess we don't really have to double-draft yet. If I could come up with a wishlist I'd like 2 things:
1) The ability to build knights again.
2) About 10 more turns where we outpace Templars+Imperio on power so that we have enough troops to take Constantinople and hit the Imperio stack without needing to heal in between.
However horses can't happen because Banana needs them, and waiting ten turns doesn't do us any good if we aren't going hard on military because Templars are drafting every turn.

Think we should do some more drafting. If we're not declaring on Imperio until T169 we can afford the double happy hit for the 2-3 turns. We may well need the troops since we could lose quite a few.
Next turn I think we should draft GA, Frozen Clams and Something Fishy
Turn after we can consider drafting China Beach and Saxon too.Last edited by sooooo; July 20, 2009, 03:25.

Yeah, I concur. And we're pretty much right back at the start of our original draft cycle, so the double-penalty will be extremely minimal, just 1 or 2 turns. I'd have suggested this myself, but I wanted to be careful not to mess up our carefully planned university-building program.

Very nice. The two Oromos from the north will even be in position to head to the Cape Town region if we need extra force there.
Just for anyone reading this, we have 21 Oromos at present, all drafted, and next turn (at the actual start of the war) we'll be up to 24. That's 216k worth of military power right there, almost equal to Imperio's entire army, and all produced in about a dozen turns.
I love Nationhood civic!
