Ok. But PM to me only is not 100% reliable. I'll reply as sooooo has outline ...

    Sir Aidun,

You PMs are secure with Team RB and any information shared will not leave our forums. However, PMs to me aren't a reliable way to contact Team RB - do you have a personal email address that we could use instead?

What do you need from us to start a 3-way peace discussion with Imperio and Templars. Please provide specifics.

    Regards,

    Team RB

PS: BTW: We have started a thread in our forums 'Team Info and Contacts - Aidun'.

    How about:

    Sir Aidun,

You PMs are secure with Team RB and any information shared will not leave our forums. We trust that our pms to you will be the same. However, PMs to me aren't a reliable way to contact Team RB - do you have a personal email address that we could use instead?

We suspect that templars are divided. Some of you want to ally with PAL and some of you with us. Rather than gifts from us, can you not use your skills in diplomacy to convince the templars that allying with the no. 1 civ in the game is not a sane strategy? Assisting one team to essentially solo the game does not make the game fun. Have you seen PAL's border with Banana? It's a trainwreck waiting to happen for Banana. Add that to the fact that their other opponents Rabbits are several rows of techs down, and you have a runaway civ over there. We, on the other hand, are not a runaway civ. We have techs on a par with Imperio and yourselves. At least make this game interesting - allying with us and we'll give PAL a decent fight. They may prove too strong but we'll at least have fun in taking them on. Ally with PAL and it's a hot bulldozer through butter. Don't be fooled with tech gifts - they are just using you.

What do you need from us to start a 3-way peace discussion with Imperio and Templars? Please provide specifics. But not requests for cities

    Regards,

    Team RB

PS: BTW: We have started a thread in our forums 'Team Info and Contacts - Aidun'.

      Looks reasonable.

I find it slightly ironic that in his signature he refers to himself as "Moody Sir Aidun (The Impatient) of the Holy Templar Order" since one would imagine that a fair amount of patience is required to craft one of his epics!

For the record, I think this is not a good idea.
We know nothing about Aiduns standing within Templars. By now they might try to take every chance to get something out of the game, including talking doubletalk to us.
Aidun has nothing in the game. No cities, no culutre, nothing. There is no way we can verify whatever he claims to be true. And even if we come to some sort of understanding with him, then what?
We know PAL is actively supporting Imp & Tem. We talk to Imperio about a peace deal.
Don't give that guy the satisfaction of playing a role in the meta diplo game. He doesn't. He takes up valuable key strokes. That's all.

IF Templars are roleplaying, and Aidun forwards our PMs to the team (which he is doing, I am certain) then we weaken our position by "talking to some renegade faction within Templars".

I would stop that now at the beginning and get back to route diplomacy through Templars official eMail.

I agree. We wouldn't like it if somebody tried to contact one of us directly trying to make a deal with that person, and no other team will like it either. You can keep this thread here to avoid wasting space in main Templar thread, but please don't conduct separate negotiations with some members of some teams.

We wouldn't like it if someone raised our city either. But that's exactly what we're planning to do to Templars. I don't think we should base our foreign policy on what the Templars would or wouldn't like us to do.

I think this is a useful opportunity to investigate a potential PAL vs RB split in the templars and possibly serve as a mole for information on their team.

I'm with Soooo...this is a demogame, and if teams can role play why can't players?

Plus there's a substantial chance this is all a ruse anyways...

Rewording of sooooo's proposal to remove references to Banana's plight, and Templars being split:
                Dear Sir Aidun,

You PMs are secure with Team RB and any information shared will not leave our forums. We trust that our PMs to you will be the same. However, PMs to to one member of our team aren't a reliable way to contact us - do you have a personal email address that we could use instead?

Rather than gifts from us, can you not use your skills in diplomacy to convince the Templars that accepting gifts from PAL, the runaway leader, does not make you their ally: there will be no laurels for you from PAL when the game ends; they will claim all the credit for themselves.

We, on the other hand, are not a runaway civ, though we are on an upward curve. We have techs on a par with Imperio and yourselves: it would be an alliance of equals. We ask to at least make this game interesting - ally with us and we'll give PAL a decent fight. They may prove too strong but we'll at least have fun in taking them on.

What do you need from us to start a 3-way peace discussion with Imperio and Templars? Please provide specifics. But no requests for gifts of cities, eh

                Regards,

                Team RB
