    Hi all,

Responding to a request at the RB-forums from Zeviz, I signed up to join this democracy game. I must confess I'm totally new to this sort of game and mostly joined up to have a chance to play with the people whose game reports I thoroughly enjoy.
The last couple of days I started perusing (y)our forum to get acquainted with the game, but to be frank: I have no idea how to make a contribution or what my role can be.

My experience with CIV is mostly SP on Monarch level, only recently I've won a couple of emperor games. Besides that, I played a couple of SG's.

So, maybe someone can help me get started and start contributing to the team effort. I don't even know if it's possible to have a look at the game itself?

Even while my Spanish is practically non-existent, I'm willing to to take on the role as a Spanish interpreter. I remember reading somewhere one of the teams speaks only spanish.

Hi MyOtherCar, I recognize you from the CFC SG forum.

Welcome to the team. You can certainly be of use working on Spanish translating (the Imperio team is the one that doesn't speak English) although we probably won't send them many messages until our upcoming war is over.

In general, every player can contribute. Even if you don't draft any emails or play any turns having players who vote and offer advice makes the turn player's job a lot easier.

A good way to start getting into the flow of things would be to look at one of our State of the Empire reports, which summarize and provide an overview of the situation. There was one from a couple of turns ago:

If you have some time to kill, you could look at some of the past State of the Empire threads as well, which will illustrate how things have changed over time. But that's probably not necessary unless you really like reading about the game.

        Welcome to the team.

The easiest way to contribute is to share your opinions in Turnplayer Thread and any other thread where people ask for input. If you like micromanagement, you can also help with calculations. (Anything from finding best time to whip a city to evaluating enemy builds in C&D thread to estimating ETA for important techs.)

Since we are at war, there is an additional restriction for logging into the game: Don't log in until turnplayer has posted report for the current turn. Aside from that, make sure you don't change anything, but feel free to log in to take a look. Login information should be near the start of most turnplayer threads.

Ok. thanks for the advice so far. To further illustrate my newbieness: how can I take a look at the actual game (if that's allowed during wartime). Do I need a gamespy account or something?

I suggest to check civstats or the turnplayer thread to make sure sunrise has played the turn (until this issue is resolved).
Important: Exit the game always via "exit to main menu"; NOT "exit to desktop" as this will screw up the hosts bandwidth eventually.

Yeah - just make SURE that it sunrise has played before you go in. I'm actually terrified to look at the game right now in case I mess something up with the war
