Not what I was looking for with my original post, but a positive outcome nonetheless

Actually, would it be worth starting an 'Urban Planning Dept' to work on longer term ideas for our cities? Would this help the turnplayer, or weaken his prerogative?

Replies welcome after you've expressed an opinion on the Banana email...

We should factor in the time it actually needs to get the Globe Theatre built. Its 300 hammers (and needs 6 theatres, which is not a problem). Green Acres is not exactly a hammer heavy spot.

Well the trade-off at Green Acres would be:

        +11f = an additional draft every 15t

        +10f = +15H & +45C from working Wine instead of a non-river grass farm

@m_h, we can use the extra food to grow the city city larger (maybe working some mines) and then whip it down to size 5/6 to complete the Globe.

It would definitely help, and would be appreciated! Sometimes I'm trying to bounce long-term city plans around in the turnplayer thread, and it's just hard for everyone who's not logging into the game each turn to see what they are. A thread devoted to long-term planning (e.g. what actions do we need to take to get Globe Theatre up and running in Green Acres ASAP?) sounds like a great idea.

But make sure it's a separate thread. "State of the Empire" is not intended to be a discussion forum, and we've probably already said too much here.

I think we need a "Globe Theatre Project" thread. Served us well for GLib & HG.

Is one thread per city overkill? I would think yes, but I feel that a single Urban Planning thread could get messy with simultaneous discussions for different cities.

Thanks for putting this thread together Sullla. Initially I was sceptical about how useful the C&D section could be, but this really is incredible. Using the espionage cost and the power ratings together to give an accurate view of our opponents' military is very useful.

Re: urban planning thread: I think the turn player's thread may be a better place for people to suggest individual tile changes. But maybe a thread to discuss the specialisation/purpose of our cities could be useful.
