  • Cloak and Dagger: Rival Militaries

I wanted to create a thread specifically for adding information on rival military forces, as opposed to the general C&D (which covers lots of things). Ideally, I'll keep this initial post updated to preserve our current best guess on enemy strength. Here goes.

Initial post updated. Please make sure to point out additional enemy units as we spot them, so they can be added to the total.

I don't feel comfortable enough to try and guesstimate PAL's military... mh can try it if he's feeling brave.

This seems to be the best thread to monitor the PAL-Rabbit war.
C&D manged to get a global soldier point reading before and after PAL played their turn T94.
PAL being the #1 in soldier points (as by Sulllas assumption) did not loose a unit. However the global soldier points reduced by 18000 points. I guess Rabbits lost quite a few units there. No cities yet, though. I suspect that will show up in the in-game score.

        EDIT:

Here is a copy of the relevant list from C&D:
        2000 - Warrior, Galley
        3000 - Archer
        4000 - Spearman, Chariot
        5000 - Catapult
6000 - Axeman, Swordsman, Horse Archer

So we might look at 3 dead axes fro Rabbits.

Updated for T101 with new info. Data should be 100% correct or extremely close to it for Templars and Imperio, PAL and Rabbits are largely educated guesses. PAL's military has been drastically reduced, and they won't be defeating Rabbits any time soon, if I read the numbers correctly.

Given our fears over Imperio, everyone should keep a close eye on this running military tally of the other teams. The info for Templars and Imperio should be very close to the actual numbers, the eastern continent civs much more guesswork.

Updated for T102 info. (This stuff is always one turn behind, thanks to the Demographics charts.)

Three turn update (T106-109). I'm pretty sure I've got this to a high degree of accuracy, although I'm probably off by a little bit here and there. From here on out, I'll be posting what changes I've made, so everyone can follow along easier.

                Templars
                T106: 122k (no change)
                T107: 125k +3k (surmised change: archer built in Constantinople/Damascus)
T108: 133k +8k (known change: Templars trade for Machinery)
T109: 134k +1k (known change: Templars grow to size 16)

Note: this means that Templars are actually population 16, not 15. I looked at mh's census info, and he didn't add an extra population point to Templars even after remarking that they grew on T109. So a minor C&D correction.

                Imperio
T106: 124k +6k (known change: longbow built in Mutal)
T107: 129k +5k (unknown change; I guessed catapult, but it wasn't in any of the cities we can see into)
T108: 130k +1k (known change: Imperio grow to size 26)
T109: 133k +3k (known change: barracks built in Chichen Itza)

Aside from the uncertainly on T107, this should be absolutely correct. Being able to see Imperio's builds makes it vastly easier. I also believe that the numbers will show Imperio building a chariot for T110.

                Rabbits
T106: 108k +11k (known change: Rabbits grow to size 8 and research Iron Working)
                T107: 108k (no change)
T108: 114k +6k (known change: axeman built in Digger's Burrow)
                T109: 114k (no change)

We have full knowledge of what Rabbits are doing, for what it's worth.

                PAL
                T106: 139k +16k (unknown change)
                T107: 145k +6k (build axe?)
                T108: 158k +13k (unknown change)
                T109: 174k +18k (unknown change)
                T110: 188k +14k (unknown change)

I just don't know about PAL anymore. There are too many possibilities, and it's impossible to keep track. All I could do is throw out shots in the dark. The one thing that I can say is that all but 8k (Machinery) of PAL's increase has come from units or buildings; this is not a phony tech-induced increase.

RB was at 128k at the end of T109, for the curious.

If you do, could you include total numbers of hammers sitting in the queue as well (if possible). If Imperio is partially building units to pop them out one per turn we would like to know how many

                    • #11
Imperio's military is pretty much unchanged (I think). They did build a chariot on T110 (to deal with a barb axe?) and it's to the north of Mutal on their marble. The Spy was not counted in the above numbers.

                        Fits this thread:
That Templar Chariot 3SW of Pink Dot sits there since 4 turns or so.
We cannot whether they actually move it each turn as foreign units will always display their max movement points.
I think we also confirmed the fact that the way the units are facing can be different after each log-in.

So I was wondering what the purpose of that chariot actually is?
Templars have not be scouting the south for probably~80 turns or so, have no clear idea about Something Fishy.
So what other is that Chariot doing as step-in step-out moves each turn to get updated line of sight into Pink Dot (which sits on a hill) each turn?

Updated for the current turn. Here is the relevant info with Imperio:

                            Guesstimated Total Military
                            3 warriors (2 known)
                            3 holkans (all known)
                            2 chariot (all known)
                            4 longbow (all known)
                            1 horse archer (known)
                            2 war elephants (1 known)
                            1/2 catapults (both known)

Units that would be part of an attack force:

                            2 chariots
                            1-2 longbows (maybe)
                            1 horse archer
2 war elephants (only 1 of 2 confirmed to exist, the other strongly hinted at by stats)
                            2 catapults

Our current force in Cape Town:

                            1 axe
                            3 spears
                            1 horse archer
                            4 archers

Plus roaming chariot and archer for backup. We also have walls in Cape Town and a mace due in 2t.

@ Sullla: I spotted a spear as garrison in The Warning.
You can verify that by going SE-SW next turn with RBS Discovery. Ideally we want to go SE-SE but that would be pushing PAL too much I think.
