I thought I'd do an overview shot of our civ as it currently stands. A lot of this info is scattered in various threads, so I'd like to put it here for quick reference. I plan on doing another overview in something like 10 turns; maybe for turn 75? Things are actually getting complicated enough for this to matter.
The overview map of our civ. Status report from our overview thread (keep this updated!)
Airstrip One [guarded by Xena]:
Granary (7t)
Emphasizing cottages and growth
Pink Dot [guarded by Gogo]:
Archer (3t)
Regrowing after settler whip
China Beach [guarded by Ms Piggy]:
Work Boat (27t)
To be finished with a forest chop
Tech:
Sailing (4t)
Scout [Sharon] [Nth]:
Keep an eye on the Cape Copper location
Settler:
Move to Cape Copper
Archer [Ms Piggy]:
Guard China Beach
Archer [Diana]:
Move to escort settler/defend Cape Copper
Archer [Name?]:
Also move to escort settler/defend Cape Copper
Worker [O'Brien] guarded by Jennifer:
Road grassland hill (done)
Move to Cape Copper
Worker [Winston]:
Build cottage southwest of Airstrip One (2t)
Warrior [Xena]:
Guard Airstrip One
Warrior [Gogo]:
Guard Pink Dot
Warrior [Jennifer]:
Escort settler part of the way to Cape Copper
OK, now for some International Economics.
The GNP chart. Columns read Realms Beyond (green), Templars (yellow), Imperio (blue), PAL (dark yellow), Rabbits (orange), Banana (red), and finally the Average score.
Information of note is that Imperio connected their two gold resources at Mutal and Lakamha in the past ten turns, causing their score to go up substantially. I estimate they are researching at roughly 30 beakers/turn, about half again our current rate of 19/turn.
Two turns ago, the Templar GNP went up by 10 for no clear reason. Does anyone know what happened (?) They did not discover a tech or build a wonder that turn. Some kind of culture doubling? Or did they pop a metal resource from one of their hill mines (?)
PAL is a runaway in other categories, but not in GNP. At least, not until they develop their four cities... We are #3 overall, behind only Imperio and Templars, and most of their GNP stats come from culture. We are doing decently here, not fantastic.
Food/Production table. This is one of the best measures of overall strength in the early game: add together total food + total shields. Our current number is 40, and that's after a whip and without working the hill tiles at Airstrip One. We were as high as 49 earlier.
PAL obviously dominates here. They are pulling a staggering 44 food from their four cities this turn. Their Food + Production stat is ~55 right now, heads and shoulders above everyone else. Imperio's great GNP is offset here with much lower Food/Production numbers (current total is 33).
Templars simply suck it bigtime. They have been way behind the entire game, and continue to be behind. This is the best measure of how lousy their overall gameplan has been.
Now, for the military report:
What do the numbers mean? By country:
Realms Beyond (45k)
3k from population
3k from barracks
24k from technology
6k from three warriors @ 2k each
9k from three archers @ 3k each
Templars (27k)
2k from population
19k from technology
3k from three quechuas @ 1k each
3k from three more quechuas @ 2k each
Imperio (32k)
3k from population
18k from technology
1k from pre-patch warrior
2k from post-patch warrior
4k from holkan
4k from holkan OR chariot
PAL (32k)
4k from population
3k from barracks
18k from technology
1k from pre-patch warrior
6k from three warriors @2k each
Needless to say, no one has a particularly frightening military. PAL has four warriors defending their four cities! Too bad the other civs on their continent look uninterested in fighting. We are actually the strongest in the world in this category.
Anyway, I wanted to give any lurkers a quick snapshot of how we stand. (This isn't really intended to be a discussion thread, although feel free to offer suggestions.) The curious are welcome to download the Excel Table of all the Cloak and Dagger statistics.
