    Doreen

Doreen met a tragic death in 2920 BC. A scout recruited from a tribal village, Doreen was exploring jungle in the south when she was ambushed by three lions. He life was far too short. Farewell, Doreen.

I know it's not decent behavior to laugh in a thread like this, but that extra 'R' is priceless...

          Jennifer

She was first mentioned in post #170 of Turn Player Thread #1 by sooooo ...

At the capital I switch back to our warrior. I notice there are 2 quechuas around our capital; I move Jennifer 1N back towards the capital just in case. Gogo heads into the woods near the other quechua to escape the lion. The lion was on the dessert hill I wanted to go to but no biggie.

She bravely volunteered to scout out the other continent and did a superb job until she strayed too close to a barbarian axe (as reported by Sullla) ...

And in more bad news, our warrior Jennifer on the eastern continent moved next to a barb axe in the desert this turn. Not much I could do about that, sorry guys.

I guess this got revived in anticipation of some casualties in the near future?

While we have the thread bumped, a melancholy shout-out to our other lost units:

              - Tracy (scout), killed early by a barb near the Templar border
              - Gogo (warrior), slain on T85 by a barb at something like 3% combat odds near Pink Dot
              - Sharon (scout), defeated by a barb on T123 over on the eastern continent near Phrygian

So far the barbs are doing considerably better than the Templars.

                Real Quiet

Died today, 500BC defending the central corridor to A1. He ventured forth into the teeth of Templars' Spearmen to defeat a pillaging Imperio Chariot. His death was bloody, and he fatally weakened his attacker before finally leaving us.

                He will be avenged.

Rather RIO (Rest in Orbit) Real Quiet. May we be comforted in the knowledge that she is now looking out for us from her orbit among the stars.

I was half-way through writing using Male pronouns when I thought about that ... Wikipedia says he's a Stallion.

All my horse archers will be major stakes winners, so that will more or less mean they're all stallions.

I'll keep girl names on the one-movers. Elephants, cats, and maces have female but otherwise inconsistent names, so I'm trying to think of a good consistent system for our gunpowder units.

How about US First Ladys ... 44 should be enough for Oromos, right?
