  • Turn 97 - 450 BC

The good news first: Valley Hutch repelled a first attack. 3 axeman taken out, 1 chariot lost in return.

PAL obviously seems pissed off by now, looking at the reinforcements they're bringing in.

First screenshot shows a collage of the situation around Valley Hutch.
    Second screenshot shows the eventlog.

    City production:
    • Valley Hutch finished a Spearman, and started a second which I whipped to finish it next turn (2 pops sacrified, no as a result).
    • Diggers Burrow also finished a spearman, I started (and whipped with 2 pops) an axeman, so next turn it will crank out this one too. situation there is over for now... barely. I brough a second worker north of DB to help chopping the woods there. Should help for the next production.
    • Caerbannog finished a axeman and started a chariot. I tinkered with the citizens so it will finish next turn too. That's why the city has a food deficit this turn.

third screenshot shows a collage of the city production.

    Military situation:
As said, Valley Hutch survived, but the worst is yet to come. Atm we have 2 damaged axes, 1 spear and 1 chariot in town, so its IMO an iffy situation again this turn. We might keep the town this turn, but if they don't attack I expect they'll try surrounding or circumventing the city in the next 2 turns. Luckily most of their war chariots are damaged so they have to be careful with them. And there's a spearman just outside Valley Hutch just hoping a war chariot might try sneaking through the woods south of town.

In any case, if this turn the town survives, we'll have 3 undamaged axes against us in 2 turns. That will be the worst turn IMO. The soonest we can sent in a new axeman is 3 turns from now.

Okay, as I posted yesterday, Realms Beyond made contact with us. The fourth screenshot shows their scouting warrior and their galley near the silver hills. Do we offer them a vassalship in case Imperio declines?

The last screenshot shows the economic/scientific stats. Because of the population loss (or more likely the shuffling of citizens in Caerbannog) I had to increase lab spending to finish Agriculture next turn. What's our next research? I reckon Archery?

Also, is there anything we want to tell Banana now? Nobody seems interested in offering some proposals there.

That's it, comments where appropriate please.

    Fantastic effort Geo!!!

I think we should cast our net as far and wide as we can. Let's not put all our eggs in one basket......

RE Banana, I think we should get some dialogue going and see how receptive they are to a bit of three way action against PAL, assuming we get ourself an overlord.........

I think it might be best to start with proposing tech deals once they finished Alphabet (10 turns at this stage). Perhaps hint we might not be around for 10 turns anymore so they better speed up research if they want to trade with us.

My, things get really crowded here these days.

Little update: Realms Beyond offered open borders+Archery, which I of course gladly accepted. I think from next turn onwards Valley Hutch and Diggers Burrow will go the archer route.
Also, PAL didn't attack Valley Hutch this turn (sofar, they moved units adjacent to it but didn't finish their turn). We have 4 war chariots, 3 axes and 1 spearman facing the town now. At the onset of next turn, Valley Hutch will finish a new spearman and another will fortify in town, giving us 3 spearman, 1 chariot and 2 (healing) axes in town. So most likely (I'm pretty positive here) we'll be able to hold the town an extra turn.
Lucky for us they sent their 2 most damaged war chariots back to their own territory.
